How to unlock the Fashion Leader achievement in Taiko no Tatsujin: The Drum Master! - Definitive Guide

There are four categories of outfits you can buy from:
Outfit (body): 800 gold each - 149 total
Outfit (head): 800 gold each - 175 total
Outfit (costume): 1000 gold each - 21 total
Outfit (buddy): 1000 gold each - 24 total

Assuming you have previously bought no outfits, the minimum amount you will need to spend is 800*100 = 80,000 gold.

Using store refreshes, the minimum amount you need is 80,000 + 11,000 = 91,000, taking into account the fact that 16 Outfit (head/body) will already be stocked in the shop. Don't buy from Outfit (costume) or Outfit (buddy), as the cost of 8000 is greater than simply buying all of Outfit (head/body) and refreshing (6400+1000).

So do you just individually buy the head and body and not the costume buddy/costume?

IIRC the costume/buddy purchases do count towards the total, I was just illustrating that it is more cost efficient to buy from head/body

After playing the crap out of the game for weeks and getting all the highest crowns I could get out of every song, including the one DLC pack I bought, I lost interest and decided to cheese the rest of the coins for the remaining shop achievements like this one.

I saw somewhere that someone said they bought a bunch of stuff, deleted their local save and reloaded their cloud save, etc... some kind of witchcraft along those lines. But that didn't work for me.

So instead, I just go to the song Hopes and Dreams under Game Music, set the "Special" option to "Perfect", and just spam the A button over and over for hours on end. You don't have to pay any attention to the game, you earn 10 points per fail, and each fail cycle takes about 15 seconds.
So I just change my TV's input over to my Chromecast and watch YouTube videos while pressing my A button mindlessly, and slowly but surely I'm racking up enough coins to buy everything.

This will take many, MANY hours to earn enough coins for everything. But if you're decently close to your 100% completion or just tired of playing the game and want it done with, this is a viable alternative. If I did the math right, I estimate I've got close to 10 more hours of A button pressing to amass the remaining 22,500 coins I need.
