How to unlock the Wall Smasher achievement in Tales of Arise - Definitive Guide

After Rinwell joins your party and you leave the village of Messia 224 in Cyslodia, you can have deeper conversations with your party members as you rest around campfires. After you have decided whether you want to cook something or not, you will get a corresponding menu with all party members.

If you see a speech bubble with three dots behind their names, such a conversation is available and you can deepen the bond with the respective character. If you don't see a speech bubble, you can skip this menu and select "Sleep" directly.

After about 6 conversations with each character, you will see a smiley face behind the characters, which characterizes the maximum bond. You will also unlock the ultimate Arte and a separate achievement for the respective character.

Unfortunately, you can't have these conversations one after the other. In between, there is always a cooldown of about 1 hour in real time. So you should never skip these conversations from the beginning, otherwise you may have to wait a long time in the endgame until you get this achievement. If you have reached the maximum bond with all 5 party members (Alphen is not one of them here), you unlock the achievement.

I have gotten to the point where I get Rinwell and rested a few times but never see the option you speak of. It is supposed to be RIGHT after picking to eat or not correct?

Thanks for the response. I have only run around the town to get side quests.

Can someone tell me what the Ultimate Artes are? I just got one for Alphen from the story mission during the final realm but I have no idea what i do to activate it. I thought maybe it was an alternate Mystic Arte but I dont see were to change that.

@Rookii - Tried consistently porting around, doesn't work.

Tried changing my console region, doesn't work. The only thing that does work is a straight hour of real time play.

If you are just sat waiting, cooking something that is roughly 50 minutes will prompt the party to speak when it runs out. That or just set a stopwatch IRL.

the bonfire chats appear to reset every hour, so you can continue through the game and stop at each bonfire and if you haven't maxed each character's affinity leave the game on, disconnect the controller and return as needed.

As you play through the game when you camp, there will occasionally be a speech bubble icon next to a party members name, if you select them there will be a skit. Each party member has 5, and you will need to see all of the skits for each party member.

Bonds in this game are increased by speaking to your friends at a campfire. This ability opens up after Rinwell joins your party and you leave Messia 224. You will know that a dialogue option will increase bonds if it has a speech bubble with three dots inside next to the character's name. If you don't see that, speaking to them will not increase your bond, so just head to bed. Always choose this when available, though you can only speak to one character per night, and doing so will lock out all other bond dialogues for about an hour of in-game time. It's important to stop and rest every so often to work on this even though none of these are missable due to this time lag requirement. You won't want to leave them for the end of your completion. I felt like I was fairly diligent in this and still only maxed out two bonds before the end of the story.

Each character will have six of these bond moments to trigger before maxing out their friendship. When you see a smiley face next to their name at the campsite, you have completed their bond. The achievement will unlock directly after the sixth bond skit, and their associated master arte will be learned as well.

The opportunity to “chat” opens up according to the plot. You can raise your relationship once every 60 minutes (checked it on the timer in the training arena). You need to talk to each character 5 times before you receive a trophy and a smiley face appears next to their name. All conversations will not be available immediately. Only towards the end of the game. When paused, in the menu and in battle, time does not pass. If suddenly you didn’t get all the trophies like I did, go to the arena, go through any rematch and wait for the time to run out. After this, it is guaranteed that you can talk, and after the conversation, again on the parade ground, etc.
