How to unlock the A Warrior's Way achievement in Tales of Kenzera: ZAU - Definitive Guide

There are three spirit rituals in the game, each with three levels of difficulty. You'd need Akida's Spear before you can open the first one, so you'll need to revisit areas to unlock all of these. The game does a great job of showing you which areas have Spirit Rituals and they are marked with a sort of diagonal mask shard icon (check the legend with Y to see which one). If it is greyed out, you've completed that ritual. If it isn't, you may have only done one or two of the difficulties. You can also see a large greatness symbol in the background art of the areas where these rituals take place. Here are maps of the areas with rituals:

Note that you can fast travel around the map up until the Point of No Return after Act III. The game is very clear about that point, so collect away until then!

There are four types of collectibles with achievements in this game:

  • Echoes - there are typically two or three per area, just off the map path. Interact with them to get some XP and a codex entry. They are always blacked out on your map until you collect them
  • Trinkets - there is typically one per area, and the area is very obviously blacked out on your map. There is always a lengthy platforming challenge you need to complete in one go to reach the trinket at the end. Playing on Story difficulty makes these significantly easier by added extra safety platforms for you
  • Reflections - there are only a few of these, never more than one per area, and they aren't really hidden, more just right off the main path. These increase your max health, and again are very obviously blacked out on your map
  • Spirit Rituals - there are only three of these in the entire game. They are combat challenges. Each Spirit Ritual has three waves to complete. The first wave gives you another piece of your spirit bar, the second challenge gives you another trinket slot, and the third challenge gives you a skill point. These are the hardest combat challenges in the game, with each consisting of multiple waves of enemies with no break in between. Even on Story difficulty, you will still need to put some effort in
As noted in the descriptions, all four of these collectibles are very easy to track down. Not only does the ingame map track how many of each you've found in each area, but the maps are sort of "redacted" in the areas you haven't explored, which is where collectibles are. You'll see what I mean when you play the game, but the game makes it very obvious where collectibles are for these achievements. The only ones not tracked and not in blacked areas on the map are the XP orbs you can smash for XP. Those aren't needed for any achievements though, so find whatever you come across and don't worry about hunting them down.

As a result of the blackened parts of the map, you likely won't even need a guide to mop up what you're missing, and actually most collectibles can be gotten on your first time through an area, or shortly after. Typically, as soon as your get a new ability, you can mop up collectibles in that and the previous area. If you still need help tracking anything down, refer to THESE MAPS which are really easy to read and use.
