How to unlock the Character Study achievement in Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide

The fastest way to do this achievement is to buy the "View all Skits" option for 1000 GRADE upon completing the game. Then, go to Nam Cobanda isle on your New Game+ file and view every skit (you can skip the skit dialog and it will still count towards the achievement). The earliest you could earn this is on a New Game+ file.

Due to how skits work, it is impossible to get them all in one playthrough the "legit" way (certain requirements have to be met at certain times and there are conflicting skits). Just use the Nam Cobanda trick and save yourself a huge headache.

Check your progress by pressing Y, going to "Records" and scrolling down to "Skits Viewed" which should show you a %. Needs to be 100% to unlock this.

When playing the game, be aware of the bottom left corner of the screen. An image of the controller's back button and the name of a skit will appear at various times and when pressed will launch one of these skits. Some of them are only available briefly so be sure to always hit the button right away when you see it. There hundreds of these and some won't show up until you use certain items/skills or do certain quests.
 
You can buy a perk in the Grade Shop to unlock every skit in the game. The skits you missed can be viewed at Nam Cobanda Isle and will be a very light blue color in the menu. Simply view those to finish this achievement. You can skip the skit as soon as it starts and still get credit for watching it.

On the second playthrough in NG+, select the “open all scenes” option. Having reached the island of Nem-Kobanda, we watch all the scenes marked in gray. You don’t have to watch everything to the end, but just skip it.
