How to unlock the Map Nerd achievement in Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide
The only way to do this is to unlock Ba'ul after the events on Mt Temza, then fly around the world until all the fog is gone in your minimap. Either rubber band your controller to continually fly in one direction with a slight tilt and afk (so you move slightly left or right, thus gradually covering the entire world) or simply do it manually as you travel around for all the other achievements in the game. You can press on the world map to pull up a mini-map and check you progress or you can go into the menu by pressing and check the map from there.
If you complete the game, you can choose to transfer your World Map data for 300 GRADE which will transfer all your map data over, including everything you have uncovered so far so you don't have to redo all your exploring again in case you missed the achievement in your first play-through.
This achievement becomes really difficult when you uncover 99.9% of the world. The final speck you are looking for is practically invisible to the naked eye. Keep flying and you will eventually unlock the achievement.
As you travel the world you will gradually uncover more of the map. Hit , then select "Library" and finally "World Map" to see your progress. Look around for spots that are still uncovered and head there. You can also press to overlay the map while you are in the field. This is very easy to do once you get Ba'ul as you can cover the entire map in less than a minute. However, you will most likely be missing some small speck that you can't see with your naked eye, so once you do your initial sweep when you get Ba'ul, if you don't have the achievement just ignore it and finish playing the game. You ride him often going from city to city so you'll probably hit that last spot randomly sometime (mine was over the mountains next to Aspio). If you don't get it before you finish the game for some reason, be sure to buy the perk in the Grade Shop to carry your map over to your next playthrough.
