How to unlock the Pro Boarder achievement in Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide
Some tips:
1. Don't use the brake, just let up on the B button on sharp turns and as needed to stay in control. Do not just hold accelerate.
2. For the jump pads, hit the jump button (RB) as soon as you get on the pad, and make sure you're heading straight at the clocks. Doesn't matter if you're hitting the pad at a weird angle, just as long as you are lined up with the clocks. These clocks comprise the biggest time gains, and if you nail them perfectly you can totally miss 3-4 of the other clocks and still get 40. On the other hand, if you mess them up it's probably not salvagable.
4. Turn slowly and gradually by lightly pressing the analog. If you have to make a sharp turn to hit a clock you'll go out of control. Better to just miss a clock than jam the analog.
5. There's a sharp turn halfway down the course just before a line of various meat. Consider taking this turn WIDE because there's a wolf on the inside of the curve that's hard to avoid.
6. Take a few full runs down to get a feel for the course. You won't be able to just knock this out in one try.
I'd suggest prioritizing control over speed, so don't hold the entire time, but instead let go to ease around curves so you don't crash. If you hit an obstacle you'll lose your board, but if you grabbed an extra board, you can get back on with . Honestly though, if you hit something just retry from the start. This took me about 15-20 tries before I really got the hang of it and then I did all the courses for the character titles in one try each.
After completing Part 2 of the game (the "Ended Alexei's Ambitions" achievement) you can travel to Deidon Hold to participate in this mini-game. Speak with the man in the lower half of town surrounded by dogs. You need to complete Course 1 specifically in 40 seconds or less to earn this achievement. Be sure to get on the first snowboard, try to collect any clocks you can (these remove a few seconds from your time - jump into the floating ones with ), and grab red meat to speed up. Green meat also speeds you up, but inverts your controls (left becomes right and right is left) so I'd avoid those.
