How to unlock the Secret Mission 17 achievement in Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide

Mother's Memento is obtained by sleeping at the inn in Mantaic after leaving to go to the Sands of Kogorh for the first time, but must be obtained before heading to Myorzo for the first time.

Probably the most missed secret mission in the game. This mission can be missed because while you can redo the boss at Nam Cobanda Isle, if you miss the required item, the mission cannot be completed. The item is timed and cannot be gotten once the window has passed, forcing you to complete the mission in a New Game+ file.

welp i guess im gonna have to play through this again, not that i mind but it is a bummer that i didnt know about this.

This is by far the easiest secret mission in the game, so long as you have the required item. If you were following along with kouli's side-quest guide, which I linked in the Road Map, you will have received the Mother's Memento item earlier in the game. During this battle's second phase (when Yuri is alone), simply use this from your inventory like you would any other item to complete the secret mission.

Note: As mentioned in Secret Mission 1 and alluded to above, this achievement and mission can be missed if you skip the side-quest to get the Mother's Memento item. This will also invalidate Yuri's title associated with doing all of these in one playthrough. Even though you can replay this fight later, you still won't have the item. So, as I've mentioned numerous times in this guide, follow kouli's side-quest walkthrough to ensure you don't miss this!
