In case you missed that achievement, all you have to do is attack Gusios when he rears up to cast Overlimit or spells. If you attack him enough while he rears back on his legs, his guard will break and you will knock him over. I'd recommend playing as Rita and spamming fireballs while in overlimit, and drinking limit bottles to cast it faster. If the fireballs happen to hit while he's rearing up and the AI hits him at the same time, it'll probably work. But I had to retry for a while.

Just completed the mission. I was controlling rita and had Estelle, Yuri, and Repede as companions. AI Yuri completed the task for me while Gusios was in over limit mode. Don't ask me how he did it but apparently the 300+ hrs on 360 and 100+ on X1 doesn't mean squat lol.
