How to unlock the The Hit that Keeps On Hitting achievement in Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition - Definitive Guide

If you're struggling to chain together a large enough combo, one sure-fire way to get it is with the common Grade grinding technique; blah blah blah, Tidal Wave. The general idea is that you need Rita to be able to enter OverLimit and spam Tidal Wave for an infinite combo.

You're going to want specific skills set on Rita:
- Minimum Damage (1 damage per attack)
- High & Hyper Magic Tension, if you've unlocked them (automatic OL levels at certain combos)
- O.L. Boost (longer OverLimit)
- Reducer (Costs less TP to keep casting the same spell)
- Speed Cast (Reduces cast time)
- Lucky End/Spell End (Prevents immobility after casting)
- OVL Bonus 2 (Chance to refill TP when entering OverLimit)

If Rita doesn't have max TP naturally, turn on all the Spirit skills you have - get her to 999 TP if at all possible.

Make sure you don't set any of the TP-consuming skills on Rita (like Over Cast), or Light Magic (it might save TP but it messes up the rhythm of casting).

Set the entire rest of the party to full defend (keep distance, defend only, etc.). Make sure they all have their Taunt skills enabled, and give someone Item Thrower and set them to Watch TP. They're going to help keep your OL gauge filled, and toss you Orange/Pineapple Gels if you need them.

Head to Halure and rest until it's nighttime or raining. Head out and find the electric boar enemies roaming near town. You don't have to get two groups together, but it can help. You want at least 4 of them in the fight, though. You can get anywhere from a single enemy up to a group of 8 if you get 2 groups together. You can get a group of 4 from a single encounter. You do not want to get any other enemies mixed in if you care about maximizing your Grade while you're at it.

Once the fight starts, pop OL 1 (cn_right), and start spamming Tidal Wave. Timed correctly, you'll be in the middle of a cast as the OL ends, so pop another OL 1 immediately after you finish casting and return to spamming.

As long as you didn't accidentally cast a non-OL Tidal Wave, your combo should remain unbroken. The number of Tidal Waves you can fit in will depend on how many of the recommended skills you have enabled; you'll get a feel for the rhythm pretty quickly.

After a few OverLimits, you'll get your 150-hit combo. Use FS chains to finish the fight when you're done.

The most popular option is the "Rita Grade Farming" method described here. If you don't come across this naturally (usually when spamming artes in Overlimit), you can knock it out quickly that way.
