How to unlock the To Points Unknown achievement in Tales of Vesperia - Definitive Guide

Easiest way to do it.....

Ba'ul (Flying dragon thing) + rubber band attached to joystick (stretched to something else forcing the joystick up) so the dragon keeps flying around the map.

Leave on for about 10+ hours and the achievement will pop up....

NOTE: THIS HAS TO BE DONE IN ONE PLAYTHROUGH!

EDIT 1: SoulEngineer recommends a wired controller, a smart idea, especially if you do not wish to waste your wireless controller's battery power.

EDIT 2: Keeping the Play and Charge kit cord plugged in permanently, turns the controller from Wireless to Wired, and guarantees it will never turn off, no matter what.

You can also tape the RT button down and it accomplishes the same thing.

FYI, I had clocked roughly 110 hours of playtime getting other achievements, and STILL had to fly for 10 additional hours to get this to pop.

note: easiest with a wired controller.

@Soul Engineer - Same thing for me. Had roughly 107 hours of actual playtime (~23 hrs AFK level grinding) and still had to spend between 8.5 and 10.5 hours flying for this stupid achievement. Utterly ridiculous.

What is the rubber band method that everyone keeps talking about? What do I need to do to make this technique work? Can someone explain it to me, one by one, on what I need and what has to be done properly?

I've seen reports that every second that you fly Ba'ul on the world map equals 1km, so you would need to fly him for 100,000 seconds. I didn't do the math, but the person who did said it would be just under 30 total hours of time just flying the world map, and there's no way you'd get that naturally during game progression in one playthrough. I don't think you need to do it in one sitting, but that's just what's going to happen most likely, I'll try on my attempt for multiple sittings.

Alright I can confirm that this acheivement is in fact cumulative and does not need to be done in one sitting, as I unlocked it only 8 minutes into my last sitting for it. I still stand by the theory that it is for 100,000 seconds of total world map movement time, which is still kinda ridiculous. Even if you do everything in the game, all side quests, collections, achievements, and other misc. stuffs, you really won't spend nearly that much time on the world map naturally.

I agree with the other solutions as to method, but I just wanted to add that I'm pretty sure this has to be done in one sitting. I tried in 2-3 hour installments 5 times and it didn't pop, so I left it on for a little over 10 hours straight with a rubber band on my RT and sure enough, it popped.

installing the game to the hard drive will help the health of ya xbox, as over 10hours is a lot for ya laser to go throu in one sitting, with it installed to the hard-drive, it dont run the laser other then to boot the game up :).

p.s mite help mite not......

If you somehow don't have this by the time you get every other achievement, use a wired controller and tape your thumbstick up while flying on Ba'ul as this counts as well.
