The Goliath golem will at some point open it's chest to do it's X Buster attack. Hit it then to damage it and disrupt the attack. The achievement will be awarded when the battle is over.

Which character is best to control when the boss charging his X buster attack?

You fight the Goliath at the end of the Shaikos Ruins.
The "X Buster" is when he opens his chest and starts glowing a bit. You need to hit the blue spot on his right leg when he's charging the attack. The easiest way is to be constantly using free move (hold LT) and run behind him so you're ready to strike his leg. Just constantly move behind his back as he turns around in circles.
You'll know you did it right because there's a small scene of the Goliath toppling over, and "Great!" appears on the screen. Achievement unlocks at the end of the battle.

The Golem will open its chest to charge the X buster. At this point you need to hit its right leg that has the blue crystal in it. I found Yuri's Azure Edge attack is the best to use. If you manage to pull it off the game with let you know you did "Great" (during the fight). You will get the Achievement during the Grade hand out.
The, Pants, Party
Hold down LT to go into free roam and move in behind the boss. Once he crosses his arms and beings to glow a little bit, slash at the blue spot on his right calf area. He will fall on his face.
