This can be achievement in two different ways:
The long way: acquire 8 objects and bring them to the Alchemist on the top left corner of the Outer region. There is also an Alchemist follower in the Adventure deck that can speed up the process.
The quick way: play the Alchemist character from the Highland expansion (sold separately) and turn any object you come across into gold. The Highland region on the left side of the board will allow you to find a large number of trinkets that will make that task easier (considering that trinkets do not take up space in your inventory).
