An easy way to get this is to use the x2 Double Down Power-up. Click on one, move it to a long word and then solve the word. I got it first try with a 90pt word which doubled up to 180pts.

This is a very easy achievement.
On most crosswords, there are words that span the entire length of a crossword. If you fill in one of these, without using the in-game bing help button, you should be able to get this achievement.
Whilst you can't use the in-game bing button, there's nothing stopping you from alt-tabbing out and opening up IE and searching for the clue.

To me it looks like all achievements are discontinued now (not just the ones marked discontinued). The game only works offline, unless someone knows a workaround?

This achievement requires that you score 150 points from a single word placement. This is generally one of the longest words in the puzzle. Before you answer the longest word, place a x2 power-up on it to guarantee it is over 150 points. As soon as you place the word and the score is tallied, the achievement will pop.
