How to unlock the Ad Ultimatum achievement in Team Sonic Racing - Definitive Guide

This achievement isn't difficult and if you're doing the adventure mode you'll likely and up getting this before finishing it. However if you don't or just want it out of the way all you want to do is go onto local play, choose exhibition race, then normal team race, press 'X' to bring up race options then increase number of laps to 5 and finally choose a map (preferably long ish map, I used market street) and try to use as many different ways to increase your ultimate meter.

Ways to increase team ultimate meter include transferring boxes, slingshotting, skimboosting, collecting rings etc.

You can also make this easier by using the bonus box which reduces amount needed to get the meter full if you're struggling without it.

The Team Ultimate is a new feature which rewards players for working as a team! It is a powerful boost of SPEED and INVINCIBILTY that can be used once the bar is filled. This is going to be your main priority during any team race. All 3 teammates contribute points to a joint Team Ultimate meter which, when filled, can be activated individually at any time, but using it at the same time makes it more powerful! The effect of Team Ultimate can be extended if you hit an enemy racer using the Team Ultimate!

To fill the Team Ultimate bar you must use Team Actions:
  • Skimboost – When a teammate is slowed down ahead of you, drive closely past them to catapult them back up to full speed. Teammates who require a Skimboost will have a golden arch around them
  • Slingshot – The leading teammate will leave a trail that other teammates can drive in to increase there speed. Racers can earn 3 levels of Boost in the trail which is activated when they leave the trail.
  • Item Transfer – When you pick up an Item from the track you may choose to transfer it to your teammates using . This is a way to interact with your team if they fall behind you. If you do not have an Item you can also press to request an Item from your teammates.
  • Rival Takedown - When an enemy team is vying for your position, they will be highlighted in red, take out these players to protect your team position.

Tips to pull off 3 Team Ultimates during a race you must utilise all the Team Actions throughout the race:

If you're ahead of your team: Drive straighter to leave a better Slingshot trail for your team
If you're behind your team: Drive in the golden trail for as long as possible
If you see a teammate with a Skim Boost arch: aim to drive past them to pull them back up to speed
Transfer Items to your teammates at every opportunity
If you get x3 Wisps: Use two before transferring one to your team
Prioritise shooting: Enemy racers with a red Rival highlight
Tracks: Play on a longer track such as Sky Road or Haunted Castle to increase
Game Mode: Play an Exhibition race with 5 laps
Difficulty: Choose Normal - racers drive slower which will make the race last longer

I recommend getting a perk in the mod capsule that allows you to quickly charge the Team Ultimate scale, select it before the race (triangle in the character selection screen), and set up the Haunted Castle track (since it is more or less long, you can accumulate the ultimate 3 times)
