How to unlock the Return to Sender achievement in Tecmo Bowl Throwback - Definitive Guide

Play as Atlanta. The return man #21 is super fast and can evade tackles with his speed. Either let the other team score so they then kickoff to you, or win the coin toss in the beginning and try to return in on the first kickoff. If you lose the coin toss in the beginning you could always quit and start again to guarantee you start as the return team or if you fail in your return attempt. Try to use the Zig-Zag technique the other team will miss if you get the timing down.

# 21 on Atlanta is really Deion Sanders. So he is REALLY fast.

For what it's worth, I spent 10 minutes on this with no luck. Switched my team to LA (Bo Jackson) and the defense Indy. Got it first try.

Thanks for the tip on Indy defense! Struggled for about 15 tries against New England with no luck. Got it on the first try against Indy!

Did it with San Francisco vs Dallas.

Ironically, I fumbled the ball, recovered it and ran for the TD and still counted. Definitely zig-zag.

Lol after like 30 tries of getting tackled at ~50 yard line, presumably because I had my angles wrong, eventually Deion fumbled it and another guy on my team recovered it and I was able to run for the touchdown lol, never been so happy I fumbled before.

For this one you must use Atlanta against New England and hope the kick is short if it is then you have a good chance to get past the first group when you get past the 50 however you must zig zag all the way dont run in a straight line unless you have distance. It seems when you dodge a few defenders you get faster this is key to getting a good start to the 50.

I would like to add that in order to maximize your chances of a short kick, its best to get repeated safeties on the computer opponent. The computer is forced to kick the ball off to you from their 20 yard line, and the kicks are not as strong. Using the center "insta-sack" technique, it uses very little time on the clock. I got 5 kickoff opportunities in one quarter this way. Albeit, I have yet to successfully return one up to this point.

Any updates on the video? Im still having trouble with this and its my last cheeve! The closer I ever made it was down to the 30 or so Yard Line....lol

I think what he is referring to is on defense use the nose tackle. When the ball is snapped move down slightly and dive towards the QB, in between the center and guard. You will get a sack on most passing plays, and loss of yards on any running plays up the middle.

You definately want Atlanta. Play against New England since they are the worst team in the game. Be sure you recieve the opening kickoff that way if you don't suceed you just exit the game and start again, no time wasted. It probably took me 20 times to get this, but finally did. You have to be quick with your "zig zag" movements. The way I did it was run straight up or down then about 3 yrds forward then up or down, so on and so on. You have to get throught the first wave for this to work. Just keep trying you will get it!

*I found it much easier to do this in the orginal graphics

If you're having trouble getting this one with Atlanta try using the Los Angeles Wolves. Their kick returner seems to be alot faster than Atlanta's.

Setup a preseason game between Atlanta (You) & New England (Comp). Select to receive if you win the coin toss (normally the computer will elect to kick if it wins) and if not, restart and try again. Once you receive the ball, start off by leading the other team to your defenders by moving around the screen in a zig-zag type pattern and try to get past the majority of the defenders. Once you get past them, keep zig-zagging to avoid getting tackled until you make it to the end zone.

Play as Atlanta. The return man #21 is super fast and can evade tackles with his speed. Set up a preseason game against New England. Either let the other team score so they then kickoff to you, or win the coin toss in the beginning and try to return in on the first kickoff. The opposing players sort of "lock-on" to you, so try to lead them into your team's blockers. If you can make it past the initial line of players, they will be playing check up to you, and they will catch up. Run in a zig-zag pattern to evade their tackles.
