How to unlock the Classic Couch Memories achievement in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge - Definitive Guide

This achievement requires you to complete the final fight against Super Shredder with at least either one couch co-op partner or one online partner. The reason I phrase it like that is discussed below.

For the purposes of this achievement, you can play on Chill difficulty to make it as easy as possible. It'll take around 1.5 hours to play through Arcade Mode from start to finish. This should pose no real problems, as I was able to do it with my five year old daughter in couch co-op first try with no continues used.

However, one way to make this way quicker and easier is to join someone's game online who is already partway or most of the way through the game. When you go into Arcade Mode from the main menu, choose any difficulty (doesn't matter for this purpose), and when you're at the character select screen, press lb.png to pull up a list of online lobbies. For some reason, it only displays five at a time, so you have to press lb.png to refresh and see five others. Do a quick scan of the five games and it'll show you the percentage complete through the game (as well as difficulty and how many players are in that group). You can jump into any game regardless of how far through the game they are, and as long as you are present when the killing blow is landed on Super Shredder at the end, you'll unlock this achievement. With a team on Chill difficulty, this should pose no problems for people of any skill level.

As a side note, I played this game around two years after it released and I had no problems finding online lobbies at any time of day (7am on a Sunday morning or 9pm on a weekday). Granted, this game is still on GamePass as of writing this guide, but it seems to still be a reliable method of doing this.

You can choose to either play multiplayer locally or by teaming up with online players from the character select screen. For this trophy the difficulty level is irrelevant, just making it to the end of Level 16 is all that matters. There are ways of jumping into online games while they're in progress, and it's possible that you can join a game that is at the final level, beat the boss and get credit for the trophy, but I haven't yet confirmed that.
