How to unlock the Item Connoisseur achievement in TEKKEN 6 - Definitive Guide

The best way to go about this is to do Nightmare Train on Medium (after you have finished the game).

Make sure both you and your partner have items that will increase drop rate and then items that will increase your health, health regen, defence and perhaps elemental. It's most likely you will die the first few tries of the level but sooner or later you'll get a drop, usually B, A or hopefully S. The more items you get, the easier you'll find the level and just repeat until you get what you need.

As soon as you pick the item up, the achievement will pop.

The achievement is self-explanatory,but if you want a boost strategy,here it goes:

I got it while farming itens for beat the nightmare train level.Just load the Millenium Tower stage on hard difficult and start killing all enemies.Yeah,it's a bit tought but you can die and reload as many times you want until the achievement pops.
One tactic is to block a lot and land some low kick attacks,and collect the enemies loot.If you do this continuously,when you open the rank S chest the achievement will automatically appears.

OBSERVATION: you can equip itens to your character that boost the chance to drop better itens from enemies.

Pretty much a fluke the best time or the easiest time to get this is after you beat the campaign you can play the "Nightmare Train" level just equip a high percentage item drop clothing (pref. 70% or higher) and just play over and over again. You will get the achievement before you know what rank it is. You can die during the level and still get the item.

I got this on the roger jr level. Wich in my opinion works waaay better than nightmare train. It takes 3 minutes to beat the whole level and with 80% drops equipped on both characters i got around 10 chests each run. The boss (wich is easy asswel on hard) dropped the chest for me. On my third run, after farming nightmare train for 3 hours!

Note: This is easiest done on Hard.

An S-rank item has the highest equipment attributes in the game and are quite rare. Although they are difficult to find, the three trophy-related secret stages (Nightmare Train, Subterranean Pavilion and Kigan Island) have the highest drop rate for S-rank items in the game and a little bit of farming there should reap you the rewards in a small bit of time. You’ll most likely earn this in Nightmare Train, whilst trying to finish the stage for its respective trophy. If not, go into the stage and defeat as many enemies as you can. One of the gargoyles will drop an S-rank item at some rate. You’ll know you’ve picked up the item if the trophy unlocks soon afterwards.

S rank items are only available in hard mode, past a certain point in the map. Personally, I found the stage to grind was Mishima Industries Biotech Research Station Ruins. If you progress through the level and beat the standard enemies, they have good drop rates. You'll know you've obtained a rank S item on hard when you see one of the treasures that looks white and different from your standard chest.

If you aren't aware how to unlock the stage, simply play Seahorse Grand Hotel and when you are given the choice to go left or right, simply go right. You'll know you've done this right when you face a kangaroo on your way to beating Christie.

You will unlock this just as you pick it up during one of the levels. The best place to get a Rank S item is after you best the Scenario Campaign in one of the 2 secret levels on medium or hard. The secret levels are

  • Eastern Explorer
  • Nightmare Train

The hint didn't help, not a single thing dropped out in 3 hours. but in an hour of playing co-op in the second zone on medium difficulty, I gained 10 S items and a lot of A.

And I got s item playing alone. Just choose high difficulty and play the level with Devil Jin. So several times you will get s item and a bunch of loot. If you have an item with a high drop rate, then play on high difficulty on the roof of the Millennium Tower.

The easiest way to get the item is on the Nighrmare Train level on "hard difficulty". Choose a hero who needs good clothes - and knead gargoyles non-stop. You will die often (if the hero is naked). But almost every restart of the zone will drop high-end items. S items will fall more and more often (if you are wearing something on your body that increases the percentage of item drops). This way you can dress even a naked hero well.
