How to unlock the Behold the Tekken Lord! achievement in TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 - Definitive Guide

This is for achieving the rank of Tekken lord, which is the 30th Dan as Dragoner has said. What he fails to mention however is that fighting opponents far out of your league does not help you by any means. You should fight opponents within 3 ranks of you as the closer they are to you the more you get, despite what many may think. I'd suggest using ghost battle as he said and picking the gold rectangles to multi-task for endings as your primary goal, and once that achievement pops you should only focus on facing opponents with a rank similar to yours. Here is a list of the rankings found by MemoriesOfFinal.

Beginner -

9th ~ 1st Kyu -

1st ~ 3rd Dan -

4th Dan: Disciple -
5th Dan: Mentor -
6th Dan: Master -
7th Dan: Grand Master -

8th Dan: Brawler -
9th Dan: Marauder -
10th Dan: Fighter -
11th Dan: Berserker -

12th Dan: Warrior -
13th Dan: Avenger -
14th Dan: Duelist -
15th Dan: Pugilist -

16th Dan: Vanquisher -
17th Dan: Destroyer -
18th Dan: Conqueror -
19th Dan: Savior -

20th Dan: Genbu -
21st Dan: Byakko -
22nd Dan: Seiryu -
23rd Dan: Suzaku -

24th Dan: Fujin -
25th Dan: Raijin -
26th Dan: Yaksa -
27th Dan: Majin -
28th Dan: Toshin -

29th Dan: Emperor -
30th Dan: Tekken Lord -
31st Dan: Tekken Emperor -

32nd Dan: Tekken God -

100th Dan: True Tekken God -

EDIT: If you are about to lose a match, simply pause and quit out rather than take the loss. This doesn't affect your points any, meaning it hastens the process some. Thanks to Nirumano for the tip.

Are the steps between each Dan relatively similar or do they get more lengthy as you progress?

If you are fighting those of a similar rank as I suggested it really isn't so bad of a difference. I only got stuck on one rank once or twice. Try your best not to lose between games though.

Just a little tip for those arent godly at this game and occasionally get raped by some insane combo (happens to me at least), if you see you are about to lose, quickly hit start and return to main menu. You lose ranking points if you lose the match, but not if you quit before it ends!

Would have been better if the top offline rank achievement this was for 10th dan.. the AI is cheap.. and usually those characters I can't stand fighting

So annoying with the cheap AI, I'll be absolutely destroying them then all of a sudden I'll get hit with a 10 move combo or one mega move that's takes like half my health off 😡

260 Wins done and I’m 20th Dan - struggling now for matchups of same/ close rank - they always seem to be 22/23 Dan - took me 13 wins to get from 19th to 20th Dan :(

I suck at fighting games and I got it with 321W and 17L by using Jack-6 and Angel. Use Jack-6's Tyulpan Blast (forward LP+RP) to knock CPU across the field then switch to Angel and spam Inferno (LP+RP). Try to time it after they roll up or down when they're getting up. Short characters like Bosconovich and Wang always miss so when you come across them, get distance using Jack-6 then have Angel use Fly (LK+RK) then use Inferno mid-air which will always hit them even if they duck. Keep your eyes on the ranking chart and always try to fight CPU on the same rank and be sure to quit if you think you're gonna lose to maximize points to rank up .

I reached Tekken Lord at 283 W 0 L.

I didn't understand the point system at first and also prioritized unlocking endings. If this achievement is your only focus, you can unlock it sooner than I did.

I know it's not achievement-related but isn't it supposed to be like (21st, 22nd, 23rd rather than 21th, 22th & 23th) ?

hope you didn't mind the notice ;+)

This is right, especially with the ranking stuff but at times I had my doubts, sometimes it would be 25 wins between ranking up and fighting similar ranked opponents but then others later on would be 6, it just depended. Finished with a total of 340 wins, 60 losses and as long as you stay above an 80% average I think you'll average a rank up every eight to ten wins or so. I've come to believe once you've crossed a 'points threshold' the ranking up may be random because, believe me I had a lot of time to think about it and I simply could not find rhyme or reason as to why I was or wasn't getting a rank up. Expect to put 10 hours alone into this achievement if you're not decent at these games, definately break it up between other achievements although the other 900g combined will only take you a few hours! Good detailed solution

If its like any other Tekken series, you need 3 points to rank up. You gain 1 point for beating someone the same rank as you, lose 1 point for losing to someone the same rank as you. The further the opponent rank is from you, the less you gain/lose. If I remember correctly, Tekken 6 was something like this:
--------------------- win/loss
2 ranks higher - +0.33/-0.25
1 rank higher - + 0.66/-0.5
same - +1/-1
1 rank lower + 0.5/-0.66
2 ranks lower +0.25/-0.33

After you rank up, you need to end up with +3. Although for some ranks (on Tekken 6 this is) Getting from Beserker to Warrior and vice versa required +6 and -6, usually, when your next rank is the next colour set up you recuire +6 and -6. This is how it worked in Tekken 5/DR and Tekken 6. I can't say for certain yet about tag because it's not out for another 35 minutes here. And the figures might be slightly wrong with how much you gain/lose, but that's at worst, pretty much right.

Just thought it would be helpful to give you a ballpark figure. And in answer to noth1ngness69, doing 1 round has always given you the same exp previously. Although, obviously with 1 round on, its easier to lose so will probably take you longer to rank up.

For the lazy and blessed amongst you who own auto-fire controllers, this is all you have to do.

Bind LK+RK (3+4) to the A button.
Go on ghost mode.
Pick Jun solo.
Activate autofire. Check your xbox every couple of hours.

Without human interaction, my Jun has an 82% win rate, 31st Dan, over 450 wins. You don't level up as fast, but this is the completely lazy way to do it. Out of all the characters with abusable moves, hers seems to give the AI the most trouble. Similar results can be seen with Asukas 3+4, and Jack-6/P-Jacks f+2. This, however, has resulted in the highest unassisted win rate for me.

Most arcade sticks come with some sort of turbo function built in. Personally I used a Madcatz TE stick for the job. set A to turbo and put a weight on it so it counted as continually pressed

I have a Street Fighter TE stick, so I may as well try that and just place an item that will hold it down. Thanks!

Your strategy worked! I setup everything and let it do its thing while I was gone for the whole day. When I returned, not only did I reach True Tekken God status, I got the acheivement as well. I gave a thumbs-up for your solution, because it does work. Thank you!

No quite as foolproof and successful as guide says. Win rate largely depends on who you fight. Left it on last night. I'm currently Majin (27 Dan) with 527 W / 244 L. That's a 69.9% win ratio and following the guide religiously. For those trying this in the future, how fast you rank up is luck based.

Don't have a turbo controller and played Jun legit until 20 Dan where everything was being blocked (winning by block damage is a slow process!) I've probably got RSI, but this worked a treat manually. It does work better against some opponents than others (avoid Eddy) but if you work out who to pick you can readily get 20+ win streaks!

With turbo controller, this took a little over 12 hours straight from start to achievement.

Ended up doing this without turboing - used Angel laser map for most of the run but this Jun map worked well for the people Angel couldn't handle.

Two key pieces of information to speed this up and massively help the success rate that aren't mentioned in the initial post.

Options - Game Difficulty - Easy
Options - Block Damage - On.

That way you're dealing damage when the enemy blocks every single time.

So this can not be done with a regular xbox controller?

^^If you're going to play on an Xbox controller, make sure it has turbo functions on it. If it does, then I could see it work. If not, you may be outta luck. Sorry!

I'm currently at 26th Dan and have reached it purely through spamming one of Bob's moves 'Right while (Hold X +Y)'
And also 'Left while (Hold X+ Y)' depending on the distance of the opponent. Also i used tag and picked slim bob too as his moves are very similar.
I've done it this way as i dont have access to a turbo controller. Oh and I'm certain quitting just before you're about to lose helps out loads too.

Tekken Lord is the 30. Dan.
I got it in Ghost Battle with 382 W / 20 L
If you choose when possible the enemys with yellow glowing behind their letters, you will get after a victory a lucky box and can farm items/endings during leveling.

*Reposted from Vanquisher achievement*
If you do not have a Turbo-fire controller, this method will work better for you.

Set the game difficulty to "Easy," then enter Ghost Battle and choose Jack-6. The move you're going to want to use is Pivot Gun. This is done by inputting forward + x, y, y.

You can basically spam this move into oblivion, but for best results, delay your next attack by a few frames (basically 1 second) then do it again. It baits the computer into attacking so you can interrupt them and hit them again.

Also, if it seems like your opponent is about to tag out (and make you waste more time), simply step back a little bit, then input the attack again. They (usually) wont tag out if you do this.

If you already have a character at a high level, choose them as your tag partner, as your opponents will stay around that level.

Credit for this (with a little input by myself) goes to TEKKENFAN1 on the UK Namco/Bandai Games boards.

To earn Tekken Lord in offline mode -
This means you need to reach 30th Dan, You can rank up to Tekken Lord playing Arcade Battle but it will take a fair bit of time, Your best option is to play Ghost Battle as it is alot quicker to get into new fights and at the end of every fight (If you win) you get a selection of 3 more fights to choose from for your next match.

I reached 30th Dan (Tekken Lord) with my stats being 328W / 14L.
Remember always fight opponents within 2-3 ranks of you as you will rank up faster.

Hope this helps.

To become a Tekken Lord you have to fight ghosts, which to the game, means any CPU in Arcade or Ghost Battle. The Tekken Lord title is the fourth from last title you can achieve (The highest being "True Tekken God"). Along the way you will also get the Vanquisher title which means you are halfway done on your way to the Tekken Lord title.

Personally, It took me 377 W / 79 L to become a Tekken Lord.

If you are curious as to all the ranks you can attain, look no further:

Each character you use has its own separate rank, starting at Beginner, which you must raise to Tekken Lord. You can raise your rank in almost any offline mode but Ghost Battle is by far the quickest method.

Select one (or two with the same rank) characters, and start playing through Ghost Mode. You can play however you like at first, you'll reach 1st Dan eventually, win or lose. From then on, you need to focus on winning: you can be demoted in rank from 2nd Dan otherwise. Setting the game to one round and easy difficulty can help speed up the process.

If you're having difficulty with Ghost Battle, see Tips and Tricks for strategies on how to easily win. Alternatively, check out this simple and easy to understand strategy outlined here:

To increase your rank, choose to fight opponents who are as close to your rank as possible, you select between three each match. Opponents who are the same rank as you give you the most promotion points: the closer the better. If there are no opponents the same rank as you, choose a rank that's higher than yours if possible. You'll need to do this until you reach 30th Dan for Tekken Lord.

Quite a long achievement. To get the title TekkenLord , you need about 350 victories for one character (the number is approximate, because 300 victories were enough for some, while others needed over 400 victories).
