This can be done with any playable character, simply just go to customise and choose a character, choose one of the empty slots to apply this change to, you can choose items for upper body or lower body, all the items will have a button sequence next to them instructing you how to use it.

For upper body items it's mostly Up B+X (^+B+X) at the same time, I did this with the Pineapple equipped to Forest Law, the lower body items are mostly Up+Y+A (^+Y+A) at the same time, once you've equipped an item just save.

This achievement can be won in Practice Mode, simply choose the character with the item equipped to them, remember to choose the costume with the item equipped, use the "X" button when selecting to change the costume. Play against any other character and simply hit the button sequence when it's loaded in. :)

It's all about timing. I was using bomb balloon n get it to work after a couple of tries.

If you are using an arcade stick, make sure you watch out for the button colors. I was using the wrong buttons for a while. I equipped the tulip on Lars. The tulip is nice because you'll see it in your characters hand when it is equipped. When you use the tulip, it will just be planted in the ground.

Go to customize (on the main menu) and equip an item - Upper Body (Other) or Lower Body (Other). If you look on the item you equip there will be a move on the right (right after/under the name of the item). When you have the item equipped you can use that move. Make sure you choose the costume you equipped the item on. If you can't get the move to work with the item, try equipping a different item.

You get a ton of items when you beat the arcade mode. You can also get items from playing ghost battle and beating people with Gold background or you could just buy items with cash.

idunno why but it doesnt work for me, i equip a item on lower body of ogre go to any mode and press up and Y+A at same time and nothing happens

Not sure of ^ question. I can say for myself I have Excalibur sword equiped, hit the bottons highlighted and not working as well; maybe its my timing.

I got the Space Shaft to work for me, maybe its only the upper body equipment that works; havnt tried any other then those two.

Good solution I only struggled and found out you have to press X at the character select screen to change to the costume with the added item maybe add that to avoid confusion

I don't say this often (love the TA community), but the other solutions are so unspecific and weren't helpful for me!! I tested out my steps below with a new profile, so this solution will work for anyone even if this is your FIRST achievement in this game!

- Step 1 -

• From the main menu, select CUSTOMIZE.

.
• Select CHARACTER.

.
• It should default-select JUN character (she's the black haired, Asian girl).

.
• A menu pops up with different outfits, press

and select an EMPTY one.

.
• Press

to select EQUIP ITEM.

.
• Press

(right x4), to show EQUIP UPPER BODY ITEM.
• Press

on the 1st item: GRENADE. Note the way to use this item:

• Press

to leave, then press

to take a picture of your new "outfit". Now

and then

to confirm.
• Press

to go back to the main menu.

Doing this alone will get you the TOUCH UP ARTIST achievement:

- Step 2 -

• From the main menu, select OFFLINE MODE.

• Select PRACTICE.

.
• Select SOLO (not Tag Team).

.
• It should default-select JUN. Press

to CHANGE COSTUME.
• Now press

and select your newly saved outfit with the Grenade.

• For the opponent, select Tag or Solo, doesn't matter. Choose any characters, on any level.

• Now press all 3 buttons at once:

(Jun will crouch down and throw a grenade).

The achievement should pop immediately:

I kept selecting other characters who had equipment without item moves, and I couldn’t figure out where everyone was seeing the button inputs. Thank you for spelling it out and mentioning Jun specifically. Super easy. You get a Like!

An item move is any item that you give to your character via customization that gives them an extra move they can use in battle. You can earn items by either purchasing them or winning them in Ghost Battle. You can see if an item has a move in the "Equip Item" section if there's a command next to the time. Most items in the Lower and Upper Body (Other) categories are item moves. The default command is ++ (u+1+4) for upper body, and ++ (u+2+3) for lower body.

To use an item move you must customize a character with one first. So go to Customize and look for "Upper Body (Other)" or "Lower Body (Other)" things for your character that have a command list icon on them like they would on a character's command list. Equip it and use it's command in battle after you have selected your customized character by pressing on the character select screen. Once it hits the opponent the achievement will pop up.

NOTE: This can be done in Practice Mode.
