How to unlock the Full Upload achievement in Telling Lies - Definitive Guide

Edit 2: Be warned, this achievement may be buggy. I’ve been watching the comments ever since the game hit game pass and I’ve noticed people have had wildly different results with getting this to pop, somehow missing one or claiming I need to add a new word to the list while others breeze through the list in one go with no issues. Not sure what’s going on. Be on your toes and don’t freak out if it doesn’t unlock.




After a lot of digging and hair pulling; here is the entire search term list for all 170 videos. You do not need to watch them fully, just click and exit, and it’ll count. You will unlock all of the hourly achievements while doing this.

Im stuck on 167 before upload and did all those searches. Even Cardinal someone added. To think I am this thorough and barely comprehend the events of this story once 2018 starts.

There was a video I needed under the tag WIFE. Then not sure how I screwed it up but I missed a video under Accountant and its the first one on this list. Then another under real name. My tracker did update to 170

Are you serious with this? Unless you're the user Scorpio on Steam, you literally stole the list he made on the 26th of February and cut and pasted it here. Dentist is even at the end after Water, even though the list is alphabetical in both cases. Exact same list except his is 2 months older. Unreal the balls on some people.

Yeah, a lot of digging and hair pulling. I did look on steam, couldn’t find any complete guides. I did shop around and use words from other guides that I didn’t have when I did my playthrough. Which was around 7 or so hours. Most of it searching for the last 3 videos I was missing. This is a complete guide to save anyone else from struggling like I did. Also; you’re a meanie. Clearly you didn’t watch any episodes of Carebears when you were a kid.

I searched for all 170 terms, watched all of the videos, then uploaded the file, watched the final cutscene, and then the credits rolled. AFTER pressing B to stop the credits is when the achievement finally popped. Just a helpful note in case anyone else was worried about their set not being complete because the achievement didn't pop.

the time was 5:57 when I watched the last one I cleaned up all the other achievements then finished it and achievement unlocked after the credits

When you play on a different language you are scewed...

Edit: set my console to US, triple checked every word, 169 videos...

Edit 2: erased everything and went staight from top to bottom, 170 videos.

After watching all videos I had only 139 videos in Jane The Ripper, but after closing that window and opening it again, it turned into 170.

This list is 100% complete. If you’re missing one, it’s on you. You either made a mistake or need to log off and log back in. No need to thumbs down the guide.

Mine was showing as 169 so continued with the rip, after watching end video the achievement didn't pop.

Continued and went thru the entire list starting at Accountant again, found a video on Tennis that i had missed then re-ripped the file and got the achievement. A little miffed at how it could say i had 169/170 even thou i had missed a video

I was stuck at 169 for some reason even using the list, I'm sure it could just be that I overlooked something. Just in case this helps anyone out, I was able to find my last one by searching "Fake".

If you are stuck at 169 of 170 you can go through your history tab and click each word individually to search for the video you missed. This makes it easier than manually typing every word again.

After watching all videos I had only 139 videos in Jane The Ripper, but after closing that window and opening it again, it turned into 170.

Before you upload, close "Jane the Ripper" window and open again from USB folder to re-calculate "files: ### Video streams". I missed one and used continue game to find the last one I needed. Just upload again and watch both final cutscenes again, you can skip the credits with B.

Watched all 170 videos on my first playthrough, achievement "sunrise" popped after credits but this one didn't, then I pressed "continue" and chose "upload" again, after credits this one popped.

Just a heads up guys both lists are missing "EIGHTY" as it's own search term, been scouring for ages trying to find my missing one, tried "EIGHTY" as a last ditch attempt and found the last clip!

For some reason it did not unlock after the credits, even when it said 170/170.

Perfect guide. For anyone who ran "Jane The Ripper" and then started watching more videos. You have to run the program again for it to register all 170.

Was stuck at 169 for a while, but finally figured out that "Valentine" was missing. Very easy to click really fast to try and speed things up, so make sure you make a point of looking out for the little blue eye icon to make sure the scene got 'watched'.

Looks like I also can only get to 168, and went through the list twice. The form has "wife" missing, but that didn't give me any new videos to watch anyway?

For the people missing videos after following the list: I was missing one after my own playthrough then following the list, so started typing in some random search terms. I found a video I hadn't watched using the term "killed".

While going through the list I also searched the term "meemaw" and found a couple videos that I hadn't seen. Those may have been found otherwise while going through the rest of the list, though.

I hope this helps some people get at least a bit closer to finding all the videos.

I missed one with the cam girl, was able to find it by searching "recording" first time I submitted it said 147, after end credits hit continue and it said 169. Once I found "recording" immediately updated to 170. Finished a 2nd time and at the end achievement popped!

Do you need to get this on the first try? This is the only achievement I am missing! Went through with the checklist, made sure ALL of the videos had the eyeball (or do you need to access the ones not shown from the list of 5?), re-uploaded & watched the ending and still no achievement pop! Ugh ... FINALLY got it! Had to replay four (or is it five?) times ... and figured out the obvious: to need to watch ALL of the videos, not just the top one. So, if there are six under a thumbnail, no need to watch all six. Know it seems clear now, but some of the strategy guides leave out this for people who want to do this quick & easy. (Am deleting this game A.S.A.P. so I won't be traumatised in seeing how long it took to get such an easy achievement!)

If u click on the blue i box there is a counter for the videos you watched. Mine was 169 until I typed 'eighty' and found the last one. U must then drag the icon over. Then u get the ava ending. Thanks Nwo kavinsky.

Not sure if you can continue and still get them all if you mess up.
I missed a few words apparently, then hit proceed. Continued after the game ended, Went and added the 4 words I forgot and my total didn't change

Also didn't unlock for me.. But if you go back to the main menu or quit the game after the credits. Then click continue when loading the game back up. Proceed to the click the encryption and upload and it will unlock after the final cut scene/credits

Went through the game using the in guide list then checked here for guides. Ran through this list adding the words that aren't in the in guide list and am still only at 169 bids watched. Know I have watched every vid available with these lists as I started fresh for this achievement

Jane the ripper was left open for me from earlier and after searching and watching all of the videos it showed 134. I closed out of it and opened it back up and it showed 170.

This achievement wont pop for me. Im stuck at 167. Done the list twice, all videos are viewed, (you can also view your search history and filter it by searches, viewed, bookmarks), added keywords from everyones comments/suggestions, and even guessed some, closed out Jane The Ripper, restarted the game. Nada. Last achievement for the game too. 😭

For me, it stucked at 128, then found few missing words to search, watched videos, but didn't update. Had to quit game and start again. It poped out eventually. Played on Xbox Series S

If you have 169 Videos upload the videos so the game will end. if you are back in the menü go to report so you get the last infomation (Video 170) and the Achievement.

I had all 170 videos shown in the Jane program and the achievement didn't pop when it should, together with Sunrise. BUT I selected "Continue" after the credits and the cheevo popped :D

Many thanks to Ghostly#8488 for the suggestion. Was at 169 but had paid very close attention while working through all the videos from the walkthrough and was confident I hadn't missed any. Then I noticed that none of the video lists mentioned Bureau, so I figured "what the he**, lets give it a try. So I closed Jane the Ripper, did a search on Bureau, ran through the 5 results, went back to Ripper and viola, 170!! Make sure you search on Bureau, thanks Ghostly!!

If for whatever reason this achievement isn't unlocking. Try hitting the Castle icon in the top right hand corner, followed by the shutdown command.

After watching all 170 videos and watching the end sequence twice, this was the only resolution to get my achievements to pop.

Mine showed 133 after following the entire walkthrough, baffled I closed the ripper window and reopened it and it was immediately at 169. Found one missing video and done. Worth a shot for those in similar situation.

If you only have 169 streams on the count, to save yourself time searching through the lot, just close Jane the ripper and reopen to update the count, I did this and worked a charm.

I had all 170 uploaded but it still didn't pop for me until I clicked "Report" from the menu after the credits. So if it doesn't pop automatically for you, try that.

I'm probably a bit silly, but I've been trying to find all the videos without this guide. (I had to cover up the screen to scroll down to comments. laugh) I'm up to 44 / 170.

I've actually got a little notepad listing each video I found, the date, who was talking, and what they were talking about. It's a little chaotic trying to keep up, but it makes me feel like some weird video-snippet detective.

I had the same issue with this. When finishing the game I only got the "headed to the roof" achievement. Clicking Continue and going through the end cutscenes and credits again, it popped once the second credit list finished. Thanks for the advice!

I don’t know what it was, but it took me forever to notice I was missing the fifth video in ‘real name’. Great guide, I picked up a few from the extra tips in the comments too so anyone who’s struggling, try ‘bureau’, ‘killer’ and ‘machines’, or just recheck your steps.

Didn't pop after completing the game, when the upload count clearly read 170. But after quitting and rebooting the game, then it appeared!

Had to comb through the list after having 169; turns out I also missed one under 'Jones'. Using a keyboard only took a couple minutes to grind through the search terms again. Achievement popped after credits rolled and I was dropped back to Continue menu.

I had all 170 before uploading and this did not pop. After the credits ended and the menu came up, I clicked "Credits" again and it popped when they ended the second time. Don't know if it's a definitive fix for everyone as there are some other suggestions in earlier comments - but it seems like if you are in the same situation, clicking ANY option after the credits end might do it.

Just to leave a small piece of advice that helped me, I was at 169 for ages and I searched "eighty" by itself. This brings up a video that won't show up in the "Knight Eighty" search since the username "Cardinal Eighty One" is used instead.

Hope this helps people who might be stuck.

UPDATE - After finishing the game and not unlocking "Full Upload" (even though it was showing 169 videos before the final cutscenes/video) I pressed continue, went through my search history to double check . I found out I missed one for RECORD. I re-attached the file and although it didn't increase the counter from 169 before ripping it to finish the game again it unlocked "Full Upload" correctly this time. My error although the game counter didn't really help as it did say 169 even with a missed video. In conclusion, the counter isn't overly accurate so even if it showed 169/170 before the final upload and automatic video you might have still missed something if the achievement didn't unlock for you.

I've got 169 videos before upload, and the 170th is automatic at the end....not sure why this achievement isn't unlocking. Going to have to do a new playthrough, unfortunately.

I beat the game then went back to get this achievement. After searching every word from this list I thought man what a pain, maybe I missed one vid. Went through the entire list again, even more carefully and every video from the searches on that list are watched. So no it is not working for everyone and is missing one video or search for us. Stuck at 169 until I figure that search out.

I used the above list and only got 168/170 videos. Did it twice and still the same. Anyone with the same issue? Any suggestions on where I might've gone wrong?

EDIT: Turns out it's way easier to not click a video than you think. For those who are stuck in a number close to 170 and are certain to have inserted all the words, I suggest using the history tool and filter by "search". That's how I found the ones I was missing.

Make sure you (double) check all words before assuming it's bugged. My tracker showed 168 after my original playthrough, I found an unwatched video with the first keyword that seemed unfamiliar so I watched it, the tracker now showing 169. I went on to watch the ending (for the first time) and got worried when it didn't pop. Checked the tracker and it STILL showed 169. So I went down the list and eventually found another missing video. After watching it (and the ending again) the achievement popped and it now says 170. So unless it's showing 170 for you after the ending and it didn't pop, you are still missing a video.

(Odds are that it's the "spell" one like it was tor me, I never would have found it without a guide.)

Mary seems uneeded. Going through the list from a-z, all the Mary vids were already watched. Do you have to watch each vid after the search term to get credit? Clocking a thousand times and not sure if I'm overdoing it.

Might be worth adding to the guide, that having watched all the videos, you’re gonna need to upload them. I thought I’d get the achievement by simply watching them all. Soon realised after digging through the search history wondering which video I’d missed… that actually all I needed to do was upload the videos now I’d seen them all.

Recommend closing the “Jane the Ripper” app, not minimising but properly closing it. And re-opening it by clicking on the icon on the desktop named “Untitled USB”, and selecting Jane the Ripper.

You’re looking for the number in this to say 170. That’ll definitely pop the achievement.

I’m sorry if the guide did make this clear, just didn’t seem that clear to me, and this comment section is huge so I didn’t take the time to read through it.

edit: my achievement popped after i closed out of the game and turned it back on. It popped before i hit the continue button.

I would add which achievement pops when. That alerted me to the fact that I missed one (because it should have popped right there) and I had to go back through the list to find it.

Otherwise, great guide!

So, I got this to pop with just 169 different videos bookmarked (as as far as I know only 169 watched). I haven't checked the info icon to see if it shows 170 discovered/watched, but I've gone through the list of keywords and even searched keywords suggested in comments everywhere and I don't find a 170th searchable video.

However, Jane the Ripper showed 170 streams before I uploaded the very first time. Many comments say the ending video counts or you have to upload once to find the last video and upload again. I've searched the text of the ending video (I currently have the Ava ending) after continuing and it's not found.

I've checked against "filename" lists and I'm not missing any videos. Every list I've found only has 169 filenames.

Is there actually a 170th video you can view within Retina?

For me it didn't pop after the credits so I clicked continue, then Alt+F4ed out of the credits and relaunched the game and it popped once I got back to the menu

List worked fine, just double check that you have the "eye" logo on all 5 videos from a keyword before backing out.

Also, if you press the little blue "i" in the top right corner of the video search screen, there is a counter in there. Mine said 170 files retrieved before I uploaded.

I can confirm that I personally had to upload the file once, get the ending achievement, continue at the end of the credits, and then re-upload and end again even though I had them all to begin with. Try this first before you freak out if you have 170/170.

Ok finally figured it out after 16 hours of gameplay. But I of course very casually played the game first so that is part of why it's high. I might have well not used a guide. I was so close anyway, really killed my enjoyment and pride to use this. I put Kinky instead of Kink and caught it on my 4th run through of the list. Thanks for posting!

I completed the game after watching all 169 videos, and then the final video to make it 170. Even confirmed in the information dialogue window pressing the i on the database viewer. But achievement didn't unlock.

I went through the whole list again, no unwatched videos. Still not unlocking, so I "logged off" from the computer and then it unlocked...

I played through twice as I got 169.
What I did the second time was use the tip for the I top right of retina search which gave the count and made notes

I have name, number of videos that count and the number that counted (no eyeball)
Eg. Alba 5 q5
Alba had 5 videos after watching all without eyeball the count was 15

Use these numbers after each section and see if that helps you

Not needed means all videos had eyeballs there was nothing to watch so you can skip them

Note: I felt like I watched an eyeball video around boat and it counted that once. If you get to boat and count isn't 56 then try watching all videos in last 2 or 3 searches again.
If the copy and paste messed up a word is due to autocorrect.

-You can get this achievement even after the game "ends", so don't rush yourself or worry too much. If you're having fun, take your time. Not missable.

-You need to watch every single video available to you. There will be a light blue eye icon in the upper righthand corner in the preview thumbnail of the video once it has been viewed. *** Watch every video that comes up for each search term you type in.

-You do not need to view each video for long. Click it and click out pretty much as fast as you want.

-I recommend playing the game on PC if possible (better/easier controls)

This was a real pain, I went through the list after 2 uploads at 169 and found one in Black Kite but it still said 169. Following Silent Calibre's advice I read the report after the credits and it popped. I recommend trying Mistality's method of closing down the upload tab and reloading the Jack the Ripper software.

This was almost as bad as Eyes on the Prize in Fallout 4, almost.

all these words work I did mine on PC for the typing side much easier. hit the 168 and looked through and found another one then stuck on 169. followed Silent Calibre's advice did an upload and came back later to run through the list, my last missing was under David, which I'd previously run through them all a few times. PC is much easier and breeze when typing through. Thanks all, the walkthroughs and additional advice all worked 100%

I had made an upload after 89 videos and before reading this guide. I was able to go to continue but after watching the remaining videos it was still at 89. I closed the upload tab and reloaded the Jane the ripper and it updated to 170

@L3oD4sMod3ll - I'm not entirely sure what you're doing wrong but I can say with absolute confidence the majority of the words you've listed work fine because I've used them during my playthrough. Mike and Riordan give some good results, and Love is the very first suggested term, the game itself even types it for you!

Here is my 100% Achievement guide with timestamps!

Easy game but for this achievement you need to type in 84(?) Keywords to watch 170 videos.
You don't need to watch every video fully, just click on it, wait a second or two and back out.

My advice would be to click it twice just in case, and make sure to watch EVERY video from one keyword as sometimes there will be 2 videos, others can have 10 etc

Just for non english language gamers, you can choose language, at the options main menu (not in computer environment), I recomend that because of translations issues in words like "Boo", "babe" , or "f*ck"

Français : Ce qui suit n'est pas un guide, celui de @Vudix est déjà très bien, mais plutôt une recommandation pour ceux qui jouent dans la langue de Molière.

Il est impossible de changer les sous-titres depuis le jeu sur Xbox comme c'est le cas sur PC, de ce fait le jeu s'adapte automatiquement sur les paramètres de langue de la console.

Si vous éprouvez des difficultés pour obtenir les 170 vidéos, changez la langue de votre console en anglais et passez en revue la liste fournie par @Vudix.

Le succès se déverrouillera une fois les crédits terminés.

This is not a complete solution perhaps, but might come in handy if you end up missing a few and are not sure which one is missing.

In the history of your Database Server you can filter on Show Views and then order on Activity to check which file names you have viewed already. See screenshot below:

Got stuck at 169 after trying absolutely everything written by fellow TA gamers.
My 170th word was "died".
1. Upload 169 videos
2. Finished the game.
3. Read the note.
4. Continued the game
5. By sheer luck clicked the word "died" at a random clip.

PS: Don't forget to play IMMMORTALITY.

There are 169 videos in Telling Lies. If you played the game naturally you will have seen most of them, but even if you were very thorough there will probably be some missing. If you're missing any, search for the following terms:

If you search for all of these words and watch every returned video, you will have viewed all 169. If you uploaded the videos before viewing all of them you can still unlock this trophy - select Continue from the main menu and you will be returned to 5:37AM, free to search for any videos you still need. The trophy will unlock once your character goes up to the roof.

This trophy requires you to watch all 169 videos in the game before you upload the database. You only need to watch each video for 1 second. To make sure you have watched all 169 videos, there is a list of 84 words you can search for in the game. I can't post the list because it contains some naughty words that would get this solution taken down.

For this you need to have watched all 170 videos before you submit them. See the roadmap for the list of search terms.

During the game, the main character will insert a flash drive with a new program.
In the program you can see the number of videos watched (you will need 170 for the trophy).
Pressing the "Generate" key will trigger the point of no return, so I recommend finishing off all the trophies with Klondike, search, password and cart

The hint is not correct. You need to search exactly 170 videos. They are there. I listened to this person and after 169 videos I clicked download and there was no trophy.
I had to search and found one that I had missed. And only when the counter showed 170 did the trophy fall out

As I understand it, there is a problem in the Russian version. I was missing the word Real name. Set the system to English and according to the foreign guide everything is ok.

The game has 170 entries, but the game itself only writes 169. I found the last entry thanks to the description of the video guide (en). If you doubt whether you have found record 170, then click copy files and watch the ending, it will be the same as in the video.

I went through the English set of words in the end 168. Cardinal and defended you, the missing queries. All 170 videos must be present to platinum. Accordingly, in what language the request is, that language is installed in the game.
