How to unlock the Purple Prize achievement in Tentacles: Enter the Mind - Definitive Guide

I acquired me first purple egg some time in the Super Ego layer. I was not able to purchase or find a purple hammer until later. I had to purchase it for 2500 coins after which I was able to crack the egg and my prize was this achievement and a revive token.

 Purple eggs can start appearing around the 5th layer, Super Ego. It is possible to also find a purple hammer in the levels and this occurrence increases the further you progress in the game. If you don't want to wait to find a matching hammer the shop will usually have a hammer for the egg in about 2-5 pit stops or deaths. In the store the hammer costs 2,500 coins to buy. It is possible to still find purple eggs even in the last layer of the game so don't worry if you don't find the egg right away.
