How to unlock the Underground achievement in Terminator Salvation - Definitive Guide

Simply complete this chapter on any difficulty. This is easily the longest and possibly hardest level in the game. Once you get underground and after all the cutscenes with the inhabitants, you will be thrust into a ruthless battle against several T-7s and T-600s - conserve ammo and make sure to do the grenade-shot soft-spot trick on the spyders. After that, you will enjoy a long train ride with an unlimited rocket supply firing at motorcycles. Have fun with that.

After all that, you will then have to escort a bus across LA. This is one of the harder parts of the game because you must be accurate taking out the enemies or the bus goes down and you start the whole part all over.

Watch the video for hints and tips.

Yes, you need to lead the bikes a bit. I should have mentioned that - thanks!

Using the Mahalo videos is pretty bad. Especially for the last part of this mission as it's being played on what seems to be Easy. Kind of useless when trying to go through the game on Hard.

The videos are supposed to give you an idea what to expect, not beat the game for you.

Hey, it's not like I gave you a thumbs down, though I may now. There's a bit of difference between this level on Hard and what is being shown in the video. And since you posted this in the "Solutions" category, it is in fact supposed to do more than give an idea of what to expect. No need to get smart about it.

I wasn't, honestly. I'm sorry you experienced it that way. The achievement defines 'any' difficulty, not just hard. I do remember hard was stupid in some spots, but I, like you will too, will manage through it. I recall this area was trial, fail, memorization. The T's come in shifts, so pick off the order bastards first. Im sorry, its been so long, I cant offer more on the hard. I think that's a flaw of these solutions - just because someone posts one, they are automatically assumed the expert, ya know? Message me via Live and we'll chat. :D

The first part of the bus part, where you are driving through the streets was easy.

The second part, you shouldn't probably stress playing it over and over, it's good to learn where the bikes are coming from so you can pre-fire them

I also noticed that shooting a little bit in front of the bikes is better, as the shot seems a little delayed getting to the enemy.

You’ll have a couple of vehicle sequences again this level, but they’re not very difficult. One of them you get a rocket launcher for, so it’s not very hard. The toughest part is when you have to keep the machines busy while Barnes checks the explosive trap he set. There are a couple of checkpoints in between waves of Terminators. Just keep moving from one side to the other. Use the rocket launcher and the grenade launcher for quick kills. By the way, if you quit after one of the checkpoints and reload, all of the weapons will respawn and you’ll be at max ammo again.
