How to unlock the CUSTOM CHALLENGE VICTORIES achievement in Test Drive Unlimited - Definitive Guide

*Servers have been shut down, this achievement is currently unavailable.*

This achievement only works if (1) you manage to beat any players challenge (2) you create a challenge and in the end have the best score BUT another player would have to take part in the challenge for it to count.

If you can't get this achievement legit, I think the best way would be to create a race with a car few people use. For example, a slow car and long race. Then just have another person enter the challenge but make sure not to beat your score.

Do this twice and you will unlock the achievement.

Here you can get two achievments in one shot. You can get this along with "Sharing Custom Challenges" It takes 48 hours to complete but only nees a couple minutes of work.
Sharing 3 challenges is simple. Once you become the 2nd rank (30 minutes into the game) you should be able to go into "Editor Mode" VIA your Pause Menu. Go into there and select a start, a finish, and then test it, and save. Also make sure the "Entry Fee" is $1,000 and the amount the won is $0. Do this 3 times and you'll have 3 custom challenges. No achievement yet but your close. Now head over to any "Drive-In" and choose the option "Share Challenges" and pick one. You may only share one challenge at a time so this is the easy part... Wait... Dont forget to set it to One day, as the duration of the event. Come back after a day, and do the same thing again. Than come back to the game the day after that and once you log on you should get the "2 Victories" achievement. Again go to a "Drive-In' And share your 3rd and last challenge and you should get your achievement. The reason why you should get both is because nobody will challenge your time, therefore making you the winner.

****EDIT**** As the servers have been shut down, this achievement is no longer obtainable. Therefore the following guide will not work. I will leave it up for posterity but just remember it is impossible to get as of 10/01/2012. Thanks to lightsup55 for the reminder.

So having completed this achievement recently, I'll outline exactly what you need to do to get this.

You need to create a race in the "Editor" option of the in-game Start Menu which is won after gaining the second rank which is around half an hour of game time.

Firstly, create a checkpoint race and set around four or five checkpoints to ensure no-one will bother racing yours.

Secondly, get a really obscure or mid range (D or C class) car. For instance, I used the Caterham and the Pontiac GTO and had no-one except my boosting buddy do my races. You can set the option to ensure the car you select is the only one that can be used for the challenge. If you want, you can add traffic, police, a countdown timer and other things to make it even less appealing for other people to do it.

When you're ready, do a test of your race and try get the best time possible. Then upload it with an Entry Fee of $1000 and a Win Amount of $0 and set it for 1 day. The less incentive, the better!

Finally, get your boosting partner to search and race the event and set a horrible time. This will then count as a win for you once the event expires. Simply create a second event and do it again and the achievement is yours.

If you haven't yet got it, you can also go for SHARING CUSTOM CHALLENGES by posting a third challenge after your second one expires. This one won't matter if you win or lose it so make it as easy as you want.

Hopefully this helps people get this achievement. I'm happy to race people's events for them if they're unable to find a boosting partner. Simply PM me on here or send me a message online.

Happy Hunting!

Does the win count straight away after the challenge expires - or does it take a while to register?
I won one of my events and it had 37 people race it as well as my boosting partner.

Someone beat it by I beat it again 30 minutes before the challenge expired...

Personally I had the win count straight away for me but it seems to be hit and miss with TDU. As long as you have the best time overall for your event it should count though. If you had 37 other people try your event then you may need to use a less popular car to stop so many other people racing. Let me know how you go!

The servers for this game are now closed, so if you haven´t got this achivement already I am afraid it is to late.

Make a speed challange, for a car that nobody normally uses. I used a audi TT sport. Set only one place where te speed is taken, but put it close to the starting line so that you cant get to top speed. When you play the course just turn around and go back for a bit so that you get a much higher speed than otherwise. It also helps if you upgrade your car before, because even fewer people will be able to beat you. Good luck.

Just got this achievement today, just in time before the servers close.

All I did, was go to the drive in, looked down the list for the challenges that were finishing the earliest.
Jumped onto a fully tuned up Kawasaki ninja, and beat the times or speeds of whatever I raced on.
Once I had a winning time or speed, I looked down the list again for some more but I always kept an eye on the races I was winning to make sure I hadn't been beaten.

I actually won a challenge in the very last seconds by equalling the previous best time.

This isn't really a solution as such, it's just info on how I managed to get it legit without too much effort at all.

Hope this helps and good luck on getting it before servers close.

Edited# **Due to this games servers being shutdown this achievement has now become unobtainable**

OK the way i did it was a little long winded but it guarantees you the two victories.

ok first of all i made a race track starting where the online race is called 'Near Future' then i made the track stretch around the entire island and i placed the finishing line right next to the starting line. My total of check points was 10. Then i picked an F Grade car mine was the Audi A3 qualtro DSG, i maxed out the tuner lvl to 3.

you can put a ref time i suggest 120 minutes to cover your back, the test drive and the real race should take you 60+ mins so make sure to wait about 10 minutes before you cross the finishing line to make the validated ref time 70+ mins, That way you give your self more time when you do the race after you share it.

I then put 2 -3 police and traffic level, a $1000 fee and no reward. dont forget the restrictions such as grade F cars only

The name i gave my race was 'my achievement leave' then the brief was slightly more detailed: 'my achievement dont race' and dont forget to save the race track that way you wont have to make it and test drive it twice. Also the saved race can be uploaded repeatedly.

all thats left now is to up-load the race at the drive-ins. REMEMBER: as you up-load you get three things to adjust the first two should be automatically set according to your race however the third one is more important.......its the one where you set how long you want the race to stay in the listings.........set it to 1 day.......then all you have to do is, do the race one more time to make yourself the winning best time, go back to the drive-in 23 hours later then as the race completes you will get a message icon appearing 10 mins after the time ends saying you won

Good Luck and Happy Gaming!

(if voted Negatively please state why and i will improve the solution)

You can also make a challenge that is pretty long. About 20min to complete. No one will race this long if you can't win any money. And just ask a friend to try the challenge once but doesn't beat your personal score, this way the achievement might still work.
