How to unlock the EAGLE-EYED DRIVER achievement in Test Drive Unlimited - Definitive Guide

The way i did this was to jump over the airport fence on a bike.(i used the f4 tamburini). then once i was in the airport i put a elastic band round my controller so it was on the right trigger and the left stick, then put it in second gear. this would then make the bike go round in circles in the airport without you even having to touch the pad. there is no traffic in the airport so no need to worry. im not saying this is a fast method its far from it. its just for people who want to leave there xbox on when there not on it and leave the miles to rack up them selves. i put mine on in the morning before work came home and already had cheevo. The video shows how to get into the airport.

credit for the video goes to doughnutts.

Nice one. I never knew you could get into the airport thus giving you an area big enough to rubberband. Now got this and comepleted the game needing another 2k miles - thanks R3dD3vil88

This works pretty well, jumping the fence takes a few tries as the game sometimes thinks you've crashed and puts you back on the road. The best place to loop is at the north of the airport, in front of the main terminal buildings as there is enough space here without any bumps in the surface to disrupt the loop. Also, I used the same F4 bike and you can get it up to 3rd gear which will average your speed at about 125mph, slightly faster than in 2nd gear.

This achievement is terrible. After completing everything else in the game I was only at 3,400 miles. Thanks for this method, it works really well, but still, expect to be doing this for more than a few hours.

Awesome method, just set it up now and sitting at a constant 200km/h (125mph) with the Ducati 999R. I couldn't be bothered wasting time driving all those extra miles so positive from me!

I'm at 0 miles. I lost my save many years ago when Xbox had a lot of downtime. I'll be trying this every night this week.

Works a treat. As terrett101 said: "The best place to loop is at the north of the airport, in front of the main terminal buildings as there is enough space here without any bumps in the surface to disrupt the loop." The hardest bit is actually getting over the fence.

Thanks hinged & terrett, I just managed 3000 miles in a spot with a bump without a problem. I had to stop and when I started again in the same spot the bump screwed up my loop after a few hundred miles. I'll have to try this spot you mentioned.

Thought I should add-- as I'm observing, it looks like my bike is migrated by about 1 foot per circle, towards the east terminal. I have no idea why or how since it's a smooth circle, but something to maybe keep in mind(I'm circling to the right). Might want to start closer to the left terminal, I think I remember starting pretty close to the left one. It's been a bit over 5 hours now, so in 5 hours me migrated enough to start getting close to touching the right terminal in a while(I'm guessing the circles have migrated around 200 feet or so).

Okay, another update :-) My previous two comments were with a 149mph circle which worked great! However, I just fiddled with it by mistake, now have a 150 mph circle which is quite a bit bigger, and it looks like it's not migrating either! My circle right now is missing the east terminal by about 15 feet, and going under the most extended airplane ramp on the west terminal about 8 feet to the right of the outermost 'support bracket'(the 1 foot extension surrounding the ramp on the outside, I think it's for support, there are two of them), somewhere around 30 feet to the left of that airplane ramps end. Working nicely.

Still works great 11 years later! I had 2600 miles driven after getting all the other achievements, so just let this run in the background while I worked and flicked the right stick every 10 minutes. Took about 20ish hours of doing this as I was maintaining a perfect circle going at 121-122 mph

I'm doing this right now and a trick I noticed is that if you rubberband your controller so the left stick is slightly up and to the right (or left depending which way you're circling) your speed will be higher. I was averaging about 130 on the MV Agusta bike before and now i'm doing about 150.

Everything everyone else said, plus! :-) It took me a while to figure out what 'in front of the main terminal buildings' meant, while getting the loop perfected.. you want your loop at 150mph to just be missing both terninals in a wide arc, with the main terminal and control tower being a little bit further away.. I'm 1000 miles down with that procedure. :-) I'm missing one terminal by about 50 feet right now and the other by about 300 feet. I think it might've migrated slightly, but the key is to get your arc going deep in towards that main terminal building while rounding out close to the others. There are some nasty bumps if you go out any further. :-)

the best way to rack up some miles is to go in to your editor and create a challenge where all you do is drive on the interstate and/or straight roads. make sure you set it to no traffic and no cops, and just go into the Test Drive part of it and you won't be bothered every 5 seconds dodging other vehicles. I set up one for about 35 miles and just ran it over and over again. or you could just race the island tour race since its 118 miles. i went back and forth between these methods.

By the time I was pretty much done with the challenges I was at about 4000 miles. Expect to have to burn up to about 1000 miles once you get to the end.

As far as long stretches of road go, I tend to just use the highway towards the bottom of the island. The turns themselves aren't wide, and without traffic are very doable at full speed.

I had 1,152 miles after I poped the rest of the achievements.

I never found a stretch of 35 miles. However, I did find one that was around 22 miles. It is pretty straight and even with other cars I was going at least 200 miles. It spans from the east to the west. The road is south end of the island and is the major blue-marked highway on the map.

Drive a toal of 5,000 Miles. This does take a while. The easiest, least boring way to complete this would probably be, to complete all Challenges and Missions. Once completed you should almost be there. After this the fastest way, would probably be to hop in your fastest car, and drive the highway, around and around.

To check on your progress. Go to one of your houses and Select "Info">"Achievements">"Roads Tab" and select the respective achievement.
