How to unlock the ISLAND TOUR achievement in Test Drive Unlimited - Definitive Guide

To win this race simply (and the easiest way by far) use a Saleen S7 Twin Turbo, this will set you back quite a lot, but, if modded enough, will get you to the end of the race way infront of the other racers, you can try this in a Lamborghini Murcielargo although i wouldn't recommend it

Hope this helps

The McClaren F1 and F1 GTR along with the Konnigsegg will win you this race also, be prepared for 35 mins + though

Yes, but it all really comes down to how well you can control cars like this, in my personal experience, the Saleen was easiest.

Like XavierBK rightly says, the AI is completely hopeless on this course, it is undoubtedly a long and fairly time-consuming race but it isn't particularly difficult.

I personally found the best pay-off of speed against handling was the Murcielago, it may not have the outright speed of a fully tuned Saleen S7 but it's an awful lot easier to drive. I managed to win the event first time out in a standard, non-tuned Lamborghini, whilst when i went back to try it in the Saleen, i spent most of my time crashing into lampposts!

Better players than i am may get more joy with a fully kitted-out S7, and if you can handle its ridiculous power then you should probably be able to beat the AI opponents by literally miles but i'm far from proficient at TDU, so if i can win first time out in the Murcielago then it is clearly a straightforward method of winning the race

This race may seem daunting with the length but in reality the AI is terrible at this course.

Any car that can do 200+ mph will be an excellent candidate for the race as the AI seems limited in its top speed and slows down far too much for the few corners that are on this course.

Just get ahead of the AI on one of the straights and take it easy. I ended up winning with a 7 mile lead and that was with a number of nasty crashes.

Yeah I remember attempting this twice. Both times took about an hour and I lost on the home straight both times. The GPS is useless to rely on for turns as it is built to handle ordinary warning for ordinary speeds. Not 200+ mph! LOL I'll have to give this a shot in a more hotted up car later!

I used the Corvette to do this, it is a lot easier to control than the class A cars.

I beat it with the Corvette Z06, just take as many turns cleanly as you can.

Personally I've found the Enzo Ferrari to be quite terrific for both this and most other challenges. Managed it in 43 minutes on my first try, miles ahead of opposition.

The best way to tackle this is to avoid crashes; i.e. release the throttle in all but the slightest bends and brake well on time in intersections. Looking at the minimap in the lower right-hand corner is a great help when negotiating corners. Rather than rushing it, take it easy, you will have time.

i used the MV augusta bike for this achievement and got it first time of trying. modded this tops out at 222 if you lean forwards to reduce drag. this easily beats anything you're up against and is fun too! even with a handful of mistakes i was miles ahead of the opposition and did it in just over 45 mins (even if you come off the road the accelleration gets u back up to speed quickly), and the only time you'll see them is as you speed away from the first corner.

I won this achievement using the Lambourghini Murcielago and it took me 47 minutes and 7 seconds, so the timeframe for this race is roughly 40-50 minutes

This is a race that approx. takes 45 minutes, and is 118 Miles long. It's a race around the whole map. I dont suggest doing it, once you unlock it because there some tough competition. You could get matched up with a Koningsegg, Enzo, Saleen and a McLaren. So you want to have a good car/bike to race in. Preferably a MV Agusta C4 (Fully Tuned) or a Enzo or Saleen. It's not extremeley hard, but can get frustrating if rushed. Take it easy, it's not extremely difficult. Just sit down, grab a drink, and start going. Holding up while on the bike makes you go faster, up to 225 mph (20mph faster than the top speed)
Once you complete it, it will show a picture of you and your car/bike like after every race, with a gold medal. Once you see this screen the achievement will be given.
*You will also be given a bonus car, the "Alfa Romeo 8c Competezione"
