I’m not sure what to tell you. I grinded quick play in effects mode about 1000 times in order to grind out level 100. 10,000 points was the cut off for me for an SS rank. So I hate to be accusatory but I feel like you must be doing something wrong.

make sure you are getting 8 tetris and not going for points... thats how i got it

32,217 in 30 line clear Quick Play? You're clearly not playing the same Quick Play mode that I'm talking about. I just played a run, purposely scored just over 10k, and got an SS rank.

Well, my high score is actually 23753. But I get your point ;)

This guide is perfect. People must be playing the wrong mode. You just have to get 8 back-to-back Tetris without topping out.

@Petergames990: all I can think is that you've changed the line clear goal in the pre-match settings and that has then changed the rank requirement. I don't think 30k is possible with 30 lines. I got 23k with (I think) 13 t-spin doubles. 8 Tetrises gets you like 12k max.

OK, so after testing, I changed the default requirement to 60 lines and scored 15k. My rank award was an A. I clearly stated in the solution that you need to clear 30 lines (the mode default, at least for me) with 10k+ for the SS rank, so for anyone not getting the SS, it's because you changed the line clear goal to be more than 30.

it works, you have to be a little bit lucky to chain those 8 tetris back to back but it is doable with skill and patience

This isn't a guide, it tells you what to do but not how. Just get 8 consecutive Tetrises, ok, how do you suggest doing that?

People are clearly playing the wrong mode...

I just played exactly what you said, scored over 11k and got the achievement. First try, no problem.

It's obvious people are setting it up wrong, because with thirty lines you can't even make it to 19k like other people have said they've scored.

I did the whole level with back-to-backs and only got 11.5k or so.

To those who asked for more advice.... It can seem daunting to shoot for 8 consecutive tetrises. So here's what I did - a guy without much Tetris experience by the way...

Try to build up nice and neat and don't forget to press RB to swap out pieces that won't fit neatly. And try not to clear anything unless it's a four line "Tetris" clear.... On a side note, I think I only had 7 full tetrises.

Might take a few tries to get the pieces that'll work out but 10,000 points does seem to be the SS target score. Possibly a good place to practice and rack up some tetrises too for the other achievements because the speed doesn't seem to increase in this mode.
