Stock a long piece early on. Build as usual, making a complete grid except for one gap down the left or right side. You will need to build this to at least 12 lines high and full, once you do, you will run out of room to maneuver pretty quick. Make sure to clear lines to stay right at 12-13 lines, and don't block the side. Keep this ready to go until you see a long piece followed by a second long piece. Then drop those two pieces down the side, followed by the third long piece from your stock.

Note: You can see two blocks back, so it is possible to have an active long piece, and a piece 2 away, and use your stocked long piece in the middle. On my screen that was fairly well faded out so I had difficulty seeing it. Also seeing 2 long pieces in queue gives you more time to realize what's going on.

Thank you for the confidence that this random achievement was possible. Whenever I played, I'd line up enough lines for 3 tetrises and never get the proper pieces 2 in a row. Then randomly, when I was near the very, very top of the matrix, I got them, plus the one stored. Don't know if the game gives you the pieces when you're at your last option, but that's when I got mine. Positive vote! :)

this is so annoying, ive played over 20 games and i can never get 2 lines in a row like that, it just isnt coming...

thanks, pretty simple, i left the left column open and built a solid stack of 12 all the way everywhere else, stored my long piece, saw the next piece was a long one, once it came down the next was a block followed by another long one, use the one coming down, then switch the next for your stored piece then use the next stick. got it 10mins after reading this.

See "Old Skool Back to Back". This time you need three in a row, so keep one in reserve as before but this time you have to wait for either two long blues in a row OR a blue, then any other piece then anther blue (as you can swap the middle piece for your stored long piece). Make sure you are on Marathon mode and then build the grid so that it is at least twelve rows high and just requiring the long pieces down one side – now it is just a matter of waiting for one of the above combos. If the grid gets too high then use a blue piece to clear it down a bit and then build up again, DO NOT use you saved blue piece as the odds of three blue pieces turning up in a row is negligible.
