How to unlock the Windswept achievement in The Alto Collection - Definitive Guide
The achievement, as well as the "Life Aquatic" achievement are incredibly buggy. In order to unlock this achievement, you will need to start from a fresh save (progress can be reset in the settings) and do 50 backflips out of tornados in one sitting. If you quit the game, the tracking will stop and you will need to reset your progress again. I am unsure if you can close the game or not, but I know for a fact you can't completely quit it.
Just keep an eye out for tornados and try to backflip out of them as much as possible. I'm fairly certain that you only need to have a backflip after, but in the same combo as the tornado. It doesn't necessarily have to be immediately after the tornado. You can hit the tornado, then wingsuit glide, then backflip and it should still count, for example.

This can be done in one sitting but I got this done in multiple plays. Your progress will continue through multiple plays, just don't exit out of the game when you're done playing. Simply go to Xbox home screen and then turn off your system. When u come back to play later that day or even the next day or days later, once you turn on your Xbox One, resume your game. If you didn't exit out of the game when u finished playing, the game will start as if you're just continuing from a crash.
There is no need to "reset your progress" or start from a fresh save!!!!!!!
