How to unlock the Welcome Back, Friend achievement in The Amazing Spider-Man - Definitive Guide

Achievement name - Welcome back, Friend.

Defeat the Lizard. Its a pretty straight forward 2 part fight.

Part 1 just web rush punch a few times and retreat until you can web him to the wall. you'll have to do this 3 times to move onto part 2.

Part 2 is in a big round room and the Lizard jumps platform to platform. All you have to do is web shoot him with the B button til he stops zip over to him and go through some dodge and attack sequences and you are done. Once you successfully attack him on the platform he will start to fall off and you'll have to mash the X button to attempt to hit him with the needle. You may have to do it at least twice.

keanosmagic - Has added that there is a possibility that in this second part of the fight its possible you'll get knocked off whatever platform you're on. A simple web retreat will keep you from falling off. Although this never happened in either of my play throughs it good to be prepared.

He WILL knock you off the first time......you gotta web swing or rush as you fall and then beat him again.......should add that in

Story related, unmissable.

Obtained at the end of Chapter 12: Where Crawls The Lizard? after defeating the final boss.

The first time you see the Lizard in this level will be whilst protecting Gwen, who is fixing the Hunter robot. Defeat all of the Infected in this area, and he will jump down and attack Gwen. Web strike him with and knock him away. Repeat this three times, defeating all the Infected each time, and he will run off.

Fighting the Lizard in the next stage is deceptive. Hit him when you can, and you will eventually web him to the wall. Now ignore him and run to the Hunter robot and hammer the button to pull the wreckage apart. If the Lizard escapes, and he likely will, press to dodge him and web him back to the wall again. Once you’ve pulled the wreckage apart and found the serum, you’ll move on to the final area.

Attack the Lizard in the centre, and then web shoot him to slow him down as he runs around the outside. Web strike him when he is stuck, and then move in for some more punching. Dodge with when you need to, and then press repeatedly when prompted to try and administer the serum.

Lizard will knock you off, and you will need to web rush with to recover. Repeat the process, and this time you will get the serum into the Lizard’s neck, and the battle will be over. Well done!

*Story Related*

  • 1st Phase - Attack the Lizard with  - 'Web Strikes' and - punches. When he attacks you, mash  to dodge. If your 'Spidey Sense' turns red, use 'Web Retreat' with . But be quick to get back down to the ground as as he will chase you up to the walls.
     - ! - When he has taken enough damage  to 'Web Strike' him again and a mini cutscene will show Spidey sticking him to a wall. Use this time to go over to the wrecked hunter and mash  to search for the antidote. He will then jump at you, press  to dodge the attack when prompted. Repeat.
  • 2nd Phase - After retrieving the antidote. 'Web Shoot' with , once he is stuck to one of the platforms,  to 'Web Strike' and attack with , dodge with  when prompted. When the struggle mini game starts, mash . As you are falling press  to zip to safety (there is no prompt). Repeat.
