It's worth noting that this achievement does not pop when selecting 'Sell All Duplicates'

Found my first vendors after completing the Mutual Dependencies mission.

At any of the game's shops (weapons, armor, etc) you can hit 
to swap to the selling area and get rid of any item for this achievement. Later on, you can hold 
to sell all duplicate items at once which is probably going to be your primary way of making money.
