How to unlock the Not Some Fantasy (Survival Mode) achievement in The Banner Saga 2 - Definitive Guide
This getup can net you 6 achievements. (Humans, no death, less than 20 death, normal, 180 minutes, no recruits)
Basically, the team you want is:
Alette: As mentioned in other tips, Stravh's Bond on her Overwatch ability is the backbreaker of Survival Mode and will singlehandedly win you about 95% of the maps. Getting her to L10 is your top priority along with finding Stravh's Bond. Basically, she hits for 3 strength (or more), knocks them back, they skip their turn as a result. The AI will 95% of the time just walk right into their doom. A lot of your turns with your characters will either be Tale Worth Telling Alette, having her Overwatch, Rallying her if the mooks are taking their sweet time to get to you, or just passing. You're creating a web.
Eirik: Eirik makes a bear. Bears die and it doesn't matter because you get more bears. Bears are expendable. Yea bears. Plus, his Rally ability is very useful in making sure Alette is Overwatching every turn. Don't overextend your bear where your not having them walk into Overwatch death though. A lot of maps, I just summoned bear and then just passed him every turn. If you were looking at someone expendable on your team, this is likely it, but there were moments I won off of the back of bear.
Rook: On that same note, Rook doubles up on Rally come L6, and can pick plenty of folk off from the side and can be very beneficial in the battles where you need to knock somebody out quickly.
Eyvind: Eyvind can do a couple of things. A)He can mend your bear, making him a fun little tank. (Remember: Bears absorb all attacks through armor first, so they can take a lot of damage). B)Arc Lightning has a fair amount of reach and you can hide behind Overwatch and knock people off. C)Troll stones aren't that useful, but if some jerk got down to 1HP, you have a wide range where you can get that last shot in.
Aleo & Sparr: Your cheering section, and how Alette really Overwatches to inifinty. Stand them next to her, and as she picks off people, you'll get 2 willpower for the team each time. This is insane. Plus, Aleo's "Tale Worth Telling" ensures that Overwatch hits everytime, and really chops down on the time it takes to kill the big brutes, especially if stonesingers have been juicing strength up on the board (with that combo, you don't care how many times they do it, let them sing). Plus, when it comes down to crunch time, you can insult the last one or two guys standing, and insult is borderline nuts in survival mode.
That's pretty much it. Be patient, but be quick with your turns to get under the 3 hours (I think I ended at 150 minutes).

A tip; go for
The Inner Fire (Survival Mode) achievement in The Banner Saga 2 worth 55 pointsSurvive without using the Horn for willpower. (Normal or Hard Difficulty)
at the same time as this due to all the Willpower Aleo and Sparr will be giving you.

*MISSABLE* While adding some male characters would make it easier, I recommend going for an all-female squad, so you get "Example to Others" in the same run.
