How to unlock the High Spirits achievement in The Banner Saga - Definitive Guide

Just a bit of clarity on this as it caught me out. Anything below "normal morale" is classed as low morale and will
Void the achievement. You usually get 2 days with each morale state unless an event happens which affects morale.

I find this ties in with the not letting anyone starve to death achievement, just make sure on whichever play through you want this on that you spend the majority of your renown on food. Also if you make a decision that affects your supplies in a negative way, be sure to reload and change your decision. You can play around with decisions providing you don't continue to progress through the following text screens causing a new auto save. Try to avoid resting when morale is great as this wastes opportunities to keep your morale high. Also of note, at some markets the exchange rate of renown is very poor sometimes 1:1 as opposed to 1:5, try to avoid wasting renown on poor exchange rates unless you are desperate.

I found at times that I was literally scraping it and arriving at towns on the last day before running out. If you reload a previous save a few days prior I found that random events can happen where you acquire supplies. If you find your running dangerously low and your still a distance away from the next town this could be worth doing as it saved me on two occasions where I reloaded the previous save and acquired food from a random event, this giving me enough to make it to the next market. Hope this helps people out as this has potential to be frustrating and can catch you out if not careful at numerous points in the game.

Bear in mind that resting increased morale but uses a day of supplies, use your rest wisely.

Any extra ideas/thoughts please comment and I will amend. If you have to thumbs down please explain why.

Good luck

Just want to suggest to everyone to NOT try to do this in conjunction with "Forced March." Safe yourself the headache and just do it on a separate run.

You can manually camp while travelling by pressing Y then A. It is doable without this, but it could make things a little less frustrating, as long as you can spare the supplies.

I just want to confirm it is possible to get High Spirits, Diplomat, Innocent, Forced March, Quartermaster and Beat the Odds on the same easy playthrough... I just did and the reached city at 118 days.

So if I have normal morale and I have 1 day where my people starve will this void it? I just had this happen and I stayed at normal morale.

For this achievement, make sure you rest a few times every time you camp so that when you leave your morale is at "Great" to be safe - assuming you have a stock of supplies. If you rest without supplies, people die of hunger and morale will drop anyway. If you don't rest enough, morale will likely dip to "Low" status while traveling. However, you can camp at will while traveling by pressing to see the HUD options, and choosing to camp, so unless you're not paying attention it shouldn't be an issue (and you can always load a previous save if you do notice you've hit "Low" morale on accident).

The Random Events as you travel will help as well, depending on how you handle them. Check the list when one occurs so you know what to do to avoid a loss of morale. The achievement will unlock when the credits roll.
