How to unlock the Don't Let Me Down achievement in The Beatles Rock Band - Definitive Guide

Don't Let Me Down - You saved a bandmate from failing! (10)

I got this, on my own, on the sond 'The End'.

Set yourself up as drums and set a guitar up as Player 2 to just sit there and do nothing. Put the guitar on MEDIUM. I don't think drum difficulty should matter so long as you can hit the required Beatlemania phrases, but I did it on hard drums.

Hit 2/3 of the first phrases then save the guitar when it fails. Do the same again when it fails again, which should be just before the break bit, just after the guitar solo. From here just play until the end of the song, guitar will fail 1 or 2 notes from the end of the song but you'll still pass it and get the achievement.

I did "The End" with Guitar and Bass on MEDIUM (Because Easy cannot fail). I played GUITAR and let the Bass sit there. I ended up saving it twice and then the song was over. WORKED!

I saved someone 2-3 times untill they failed and I didn't get the achievement. Do both players have to finish the song?

I just unlocked this. You have to complete the song and I found I had to get up from the drums and then play the guitar for a few notes so I wouldn't die. Not hard, try not to panic ;) (I did a bit, haha)

Medium Drums with an afk medium guitar doesn't work. Although like Sargemo said its possible to do it that way (which I did) but I still failed at 96% when the guitar went out again.

Easiest to do with medium guitar/ bass I think.

confirmed, you must complete the song in order to notch the achievement. saving a bandmate only to then fail the song will not get it done.

If playing drums to save the guitar, once you save the guitar, swap instruments and finish the song with the guitar.

Don't Let Me Down - You saved a bandmate from failing!

Alright, i got this one just before. Remember old mate "save your mate in rock band 1 & 2 with star power"

yeah well its back. Basically you will fail out when you keep missing notes (theres an indicator on the left hand screen with your instrument cymbal)

Once one of your mates have failed, you will need star power, or beatlejuice, whatever. Basically just activate it as always and BOOM!!!!!!! their back.

Don't Let Me Down - You saved a bandmate from failing!

You can do this with guitar (possibly drums too) and the microphone on any song.

Set Player 1 as guitar and have the microphone as Player 2. I had the difficulty levels set to Medium.

Make sure you are able to sing into the microphone as you play - use the microphone stand or just tuck it into your shirt/top watever you're wearing, just so long as it can pick up your vocals.

Choose your song. I used Yellow Submarine as the lyics are easy.

Play your instrument, but don't sing, let the vocals fail. Bring the vocals back to life with Beatlemania and then sing the rest of the song while continuing to play.

At the end the achievement should pop.

That's exactly what I did, with "I Want to Hold Your Hand". I put my microphone on the top of a camera stand and played medium guitar.

Worked flawlessly... although my neck hurt from reaching the mic hanging down over my shoulder, lol. +1

Tom RT gave a good idea, here's one if you're not a drummer that's similar.
Play The End
Play Guitar, any difficulty
Set the Bass up as back up, on Medium
Now simply ensure you hit all 4 Beatlemania phrases and activate as soon as you get the first 2/4 and finally the last 2/4 (Activating twice).
The outro for the bass has so few notes it will still survive fine.

I tried the above suggestions for doing this alone. They're both very good solutions, but unfortunately playing Expert guitar, I was having trouble hitting the 3rd and 4th Beatlemania phrases in the solo on the song "The End". I'm just not that good.

So thru some trial and error, I found another solution to do this alone and it was much easier for me versus playing "The End" on Expert.

Song: Do You Want To Know A Secret
Player (You): Expert Bass
Dummy Player: Medium Guitar

Same basic strategy as the above solutions. Just a different song and you will playing bass rather than the guitar or drums.

I was able to do this on my first try with this set up. Hope this helps anyone who was having trouble with "The End" as I was.

Once a bandmate goes into red that means he is close to failing out. If he continues to miss hit notes he will then fail out. To save him, simply use your Beatlemania after he has failed out. You will bring back your bandmate and get this trophy.

Can be done by yourself, play easy vocals and easy guitar, sing until you earn star power on guitar and then stop singing, when the singer fails out activate star power on the guitar and you will net this achievement.
