Thinking Something is probably also impossible on solo bass. Did it perfectly and still came up almost 10,000 short.

Just got gold stars on bass for I be Mine now, Trick is to whammy alot. First available mania phase you can whammy that up so you get two lots instead. Make sure you hit all sustained notes for the full amount. Use first Beatlemania when you get 6x in the chorus...that should run onto the third maniaphase and finish just before the chorus ends. You want to use the next beatlemania on the third bar of the second chorus (so when it changes backing rhythm. That way it will run on the last available maniaphase and will be used up in a slightly busy area instead of a gapless part.

i've found a way of getting these achievements singing, you don't need to be a good singer and you can hum if you like or aren't comfortable singing

the key to getting this is to have more than 1 singer on solo vocals,1 mic per singer, works with 2 or 3 people

when you do solo vocals with more than 1 singer each mic still gets it's own pointer and the game will register whoever is on key at any given time,so even if you miss a bit your friend(s) will hopefully get it,i could only get around 90% on expert on some of these songs, however with a friend who was also getting around 90% we were able to 100% between us and gold star them, you can even get the percentages for each individual mic at the end of the song

i've used this method for 3 of the 4 gold star achievements so far and got them all in 1 night with ease, and only have 1 song to gs for the last one, which is pretty good for achievements i had given up on a long time ago

hope this helps someone

questions/comments welcome

First off, this achievement can be gained on any instrument of your choice, so use whatever your weapon of choice is and the instrument that you feel most comfortable with.

So not taking anything away from The Beatles (because they are the best band ever!), but let's be honest... they aren't as intense and as difficult as a lot of bands nowadays such as Metallica and Dream Theater when it comes music games. Expert in this game is much like Hard would be in the main Rockband games as well as in the Guitar Hero lineup. So if you can play Hard and play it fairly decently, this one shouldn't pose as a problem. Now to earn Gold Stars in Rockband games it's unlike Guitar Hero where you have to 100% the song. To get Gold Star you have to break the allotted score pre-set for the song. You can do this by executing solid star power paths and hitting in the high 90's for the song.

Now that that's out of the way, the 4 songs that require you to obtain a Gold Star rating are:
1. I Me Mine
2. Something
3. Taxman
4. While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Good Luck!!

**IF YOU HAVE A SPECIFIC SONG QUESTION, DON'T HESITATE TO LEAVE A COMMENT AND I WILL GET BACK TO YOU A.S.A.P. AND TRY TO HELP OUT TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE. I HAVE COMPLETED THIS AS WELL AS THE OTHER 3 GOLD STAR SETLIST SPECIFIC ACHIEVEMENTS (MOSTLY DONE ON ALL EXPERT GUITAR; HOWEVER A FEW WERE DONE ON BASS).

To obtain this achievement you must earn gold stars on the following songs.

-I Me Mine
-Something

I have created a way to use a computer to play drums perfectly and obtain this achievement. I have created a video tutorial for this method but I have included full text instructions as well.

Text instructions can be found here.

If you're going to try to gold star these songs by singing them, I recommend that you hum the song for the most part. I love to sing the beatles and know the pitches like no other but the game can be really difficult about its cutoffs. At the end of a phrase if you don't hold the last note the whole way through, it will most likely give you a good or okay rating. When you hum, it picks up that you held the note longer cause it resonates more in the mic. I kept getting 99% on I Feel Fine and other songs for a long time with no gold stars cause I was singing. First time I tried humming it, I got a 100% and gold stars. If you're a decent singer, give it a try. Definitely requires a good amount knowledge of the song. Practice makes perfect

To get gold stars on a song you must play the song almost perfectly in most cases, as well as use your Beatlemania at the right time. For this trophy you will need to get gold stars on these four songs. This can be done on any instrument, so pick the one you're best at and play it until you can get it gold starred. Sometimes it may actually be easier though if you choose a different instrument that is easy for the particular song, as it may be the hardest song for your best instrument. The songs you need to gold star are:

  • I Me Mine
  • Something
  • Taxman
  • While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Gold stars are earned when you do very well on a song, it is possible to get gold stars and miss one or two notes, you will have to play on expert on any instrument for this achievement, like the others get used to the rhythm of the songs and practice if necessary. Finally using star power on chord sections is the key to scoring more points, look out for good places to activate. Some people find doing these as a band makes it easier. The songs you need to gold star are as follows:

I Me Mine:
Expert Guitar Gold Star at Roughly:
74,000 points.
Requirements: 98% or better, you must get the star power on the weird fast strumming HOPO bit on the chorus part then activate straight away. Use star power again on the chorus when you have a full bar.

Something:
Expert Guitar Gold Star at Roughly:
75,000 points.
Requirements: 99% or better and use star power decently.

Taxman:
Expert Guitar Gold Star at Roughly:
60,000 points.
Requirements: 100% isn't too hard, it's the solo, you need to basically 95%-100% the solo, use star power well too.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps:
Expert Guitar Gold Star at Roughly:
103,000 points.
Requirements: 98% or better and use star power decently.

You need to complete the songs I Me Mine, Something, Taxman and While My Guitar Gently Weeps for gold stars. Gold stars can only be obtained on Expert difficulty on any instrument. To do this, you need to score a certain number of points in the song:

I Me Mine:
Expert guitar: 74,000 points

Something:
Expert guitar: 75,000 points

Taxman:
Expert guitar: 60,000 points

While My Guitar Gently Weeps:
Expert guitar: 103,000 points
