How to unlock the Yes, master? achievement in The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 - Definitive Guide
This took me a bit of work but mostly requires a good setup on your screen. First, shut off the music ... it'll distract from hearing clues. And this is mostly about picking up audible cues.
Next, fiddle with your monitor/TV settings to boost the picture color. Contrast changes can help but may be distracting. You're looking for the ability to detect subtle changes in the cobblestone pattern to determine your direction.
Here are the directions and a few tips:
1. Head east until you hear the sound of dead beetles; it'll sound like soft crunching. As you leave the start/entrance, you'll first hear rushing wind and then a muffled sound (like carpet or soft snow). Both of these sections are short ... the wind is easy to detect but the snow and beetle sounds are subtle and you really need to be listening for them.
2. Head north until you hear echoes. Here, if you've tuned your screen properly, you should detect the cobblestone pattern changing so you can tell you're going north (up on the screen). The echoes should be easy to hear.
3. Head west until you hear the sound of water from a broken pipe. Once you hear the sound, stop. I didn't have to worry about "centering" myself on the hallway. Just stop and turn.
In this case, you should hear dripping water easily.
4. Head directly north until you find the odorless gas. I didn't hear anything here but was pressing my stick to the right (east) so that I could find the first hallway to the east. By looking at the cobblestone patterns I could see when I started to move NE and was then able to correct and just head east.
5. You should now be going east and should continue until you hear a sound of creaking boards. This is easy to hear.
6. Head north and use the same trick of leaning the stick to the right (east) so you can find the first intersection. Once you determine you've been allowed to move NE, change to point directly to the east and keep heading that direction until you hit Igor's room ... it won't be long.
After you find the room, the cupboard is on the left side of the bed ("north" of the entry) and will contain Igor's suit.
Fortunately, you can just click the "back" button to go back to the lobby; you do not need to retrace your steps.
This trophy can only be completed in Chapter 5 after Wilbur reaches the castle. This trophy is missable because it is not required by the story, you can easily overlook it, and it must be completed before you finish the game. The trophy will pop once you obtain the Igor disguise.
- To begin you must Look at the stairs leading down while in the entrance hall of the castle in Chapter 5.
- Go down into the cellar.
- Look at the note. They are directions that you can repeat at any time from the inventory.
- This section requires you to operate almost fully on sound. You can see very faintly around Wilbur but that is it.
- I advise that you temporarily turn up your volume for this part.
- Start by heading east.
- You will shortly reach a crossroad that has a blowing wind sound coming from it. Keep heading east.
- The next crossroad you reach will sound like crunching snow underneath your feet. Keep heading east.
- The 3rd crossroad will sound like crunching beetles. Head north.
- Proceed until you start hearing footstep echoes. Head west.
- Proceed until you start hearing flowing water. Head north.
- While heading north, press towards the east so that you can take the first crossroads to the east.
- Proceed until you hear wooden boards being walked upon. Head north.
- While heading north, press towards the east so that you can take the first crossroads to the east.
- Proceed east all the way to Igor’s room.
- Look at Igor’s cupboard.
- Open Igor’s cupboard to receive an Igor uniform and unlock Yes, master?
Chapter 5: This is a missable achievement that must be obtained before Wilbur unlocks the last seal on the chest. After the Count tells Wilbur about Igor, head down the stairs in the main hall. You will be in a dark room with a note on the wall. Examine the note to receive some vague instructions on how to navigate the pitch black tunnels. You could just wander around until you find Igor’s room, but I will list some steps to help you. The following instructions rely almost entirely on sound. I recommend going into the game’s audio settings and lowering the music volume, and perhaps turning up the volume on your television.
- Start by heading east (to the right). You will shortly reach a crossroads that has a sound like blowing wind. Continue heading east.
- The next crossroads you find will have a sound like crunching snow. Continue heading east.
- The next crossroads you find will have a sound like crunching beetles. Head north.
- Continue until you hear footstep echoes. Began heading west.
- Continue until you hear flowing water. Head north, and take the first crossroads east that you come to. This one can be easily missed.
- Continue until you hear yourself walking on wooden boards. Head north, and take the first crossroads east that you come to. This one can also be easily missed.
- Proceed east until you reach Igor’s room. Inspect the cupboard to obtain Igor’s suit and unlock the achievement.
If you get lost at all simply wander around until you hear one of the above sounds and then pick up from there.
