16.2%

How to unlock the What Are You Without Your Armor? achievement in The Bureau: XCOM Declassified - Definitive Guide

When you encounter larger enemies, their silhouette will appear in the top right corner. The body parts covered with shield are orange colored which will gradually fade away as you shoot at those body parts. The unshielded parts will become more vulnerable to the fire.

The objective is to completely the shield from all body part, before delivering the final blow. Just pay attention to each limbs and make sure that they are completely black on the silhouette, then kill afterwards.

Repeat 5 times and the achievement will unlock.

Same as LosersVoteParty. Definitely killed 4 after stripping the armor and then after stripping the 5th of armor the cheev popped without killing it.

If you haven't unlocked this by the end of the game....

Do the regular Mutons have something on their backs? Because I swear I have done this to at least 7 Mutons and still no achievement.

If the silhouette orange color are gone on all body parts, you should be good. I never tried to shoot them from behind as well. Did you do all in a single campaign?

I got it, felt like I killed far more than it told me to by the time it popped.

Killing them seems to be irrelevant. I got this achievement once the armor was removed from my fifth Muton.

I always used grenades before and after, tried to shoot in each orange part until each one become black. The most important is sure that you killed a Muton with all parts in black. I got the achievement after my 5th Muton.

I find the easiest way to strip the armour is with grenades and the Engineer's mine power. They seem to strip armour from all locations equally.

The Recon's Fire Support power (or whatever it's called) will probably have the same effect.

Same as @Zalsha happened to me. I killed 8 or 9 Mutons until it popped. Maybe some of them were killed by the squad members rather than me, I don't know.

A Muton always comes with a 6-piece armor (except for the very first one you encounter). They have a small 6 part armor icon next to their health bar which looks like this...

If you have a Support in your team you can have him use Weaken. That'll take care of quite some armor.

Just make sure that every part of it is grey before killing the Muton. If there is only the slightest bit of armor left when you finish him off it won't count towards the Trophy. Simply double check before you land the final blow.

To pull this off, you'll need Mutons; I did not test this with Sectopods. At the top of the HUD is an indicator when you're focused on the Muton next to the health bar that shows what armor is remaining. Focus on hammering the enemy with sticky grenades. This should do some damage and knock off armor without outright killing the target. Once all of the indicators have gone dark, indicating the armor has been removed, unleash all hell on the monster until it's down. Take care to keep distance between you and the enemy, though, as Mutons do have a penchant for charging in to close-quarters combat. The grenades can easily take you out if you're too close when detonation occurs. (I died more than once to this.)

I have not yet tested it, but the Support class perk "Weaken" may assist with this. To be perfectly honest, I generally choose "Disrupt."

This one works nicely in conjunction with Don't Run, You'll Just Die Tired.

When you fight Mutons there will be a small indicator on the screen notating Head, Arms, Chest and Legs. Make sure the armored areas are removed from their entire body prior to killing. The Support Ability Weaken can assist with this task while take aimed shots at each section.

Muton's have six separate armor pieces: head, torso, both arms and both legs. (Except for the very first Muton encountered that only has a chestpiece. Killing him does not count towards the achievement.) To the right of the Muton's health bar is a diagram detailing the health of each armor piece, each piece will go from bright orange to black as it takes damage and finally destroyed. On the Muton's body the armor pieces will develop bright orange cracks as they take damage, and will disintegrate when destroyed. Liberal use of grenades and AoE abilities (mine, artillery strike, ect) will typically destroy all of the armor pieces without having to actually target them individually.
