How to unlock the Fearless achievement in The Council - Definitive Guide

The other solution is correct (apologies), though it is doable without set points in the skills listed.

This is unlocked in Quest 4 Gorgon. Continue on into the Portrait Gallery and into the back room with the Gorgon/Medusa Puzzle. Point Medusa at the Shield, The Shield at the Sword, the Lantern at the Shield, and the Sword at Medusa. This will put you inside the secret room with Emily. Once you finish talking to her (regardless of choices) you will search the room with her.

Pandora's Box is actually the vase/jar sitting on one of the corner pillars in the room and you need to translate the inscription using either the left or right most options (If you don't have points in those skills just use one of your Carmelite Water's with the D-Pad to get a freebie) Then on the next prompt choose to Open the "box" to unlock the Achievement.

The other guide is NOT correct. It is located in Quest 5 not 4, you also do not need points in any skills if you use a Carmelite Water. That's called being misinformed.

And you could not leave him a comment to say that he wrote the wrong chapter? As for the rest of his information, it is spot on. I suggest you edit your guide to mention how the other guide is incorrect because you are suggesting that his guide does not work.

Your guide is very good btw I just didn't need to use it because the guide at the top is correct (minus one small mistake)

Lol and you're right about that, egg on my face. I'll edit the information, but I do stand on the fact that points in specific skills are not needed.

That is true and your extra information is extremely valuable for those missing the necessary skills.

Cheers for your cooperation :)

This is found in Quest 4.

After talking to Emily, turn right to find a fireplace. You'll find an urn to the right of the fireplace. Interact with it.

You'd need a high Diplomat or Occultist standing to proceed, I believe. I was playing as a Diplomat, and have a high Linguistic skill, so I had no issues translating the inscription. If you don't have enough skills for both, you may need to start a new game - not 100% sure about this though.

EDIT: Someone PM me that if you don't have the necessary skills, you can use a Carmelite Water to get a free pass to open the box.

Regardless of how you proceed with the previous step, you'll talk to Emily again, and get the choices either to open the jar or not.

Achievement pops when you open it.

a) Carmelite water does NOT work with this particular object.
b) There's no need to restart the game. Skipping through Quest 3 takes about four minutes and this should net you enough points to unlock level 1 of Linguistics or Erudition.

You will need either Linguistics or Occultism at at least Level 1 to unlock this trophy. If you are playing as a Diplomat or an Occultist, you will already have one of these skills. If you are playing as a Detective, you will need to unlock one of these.

In Episode 1, Quest 4, you will need to solve a puzzle in the library involving a Medusa statue and other three statues. Select each statue, then rotate them:

Medusa – Towards the hero holding the shield
Sword – Towards the Medusa
Lantern – Towards the hero holding the shield
Shield – Towards the hero holding the sword

This will give you access to a hidden room. After the cutscene, turn left and interact with the jar. Use either of the above-listed skills to examine the jar, then choose to open it.

In ‘Episode 1: The Mad Ones - Quest 4: Gorgon’, you will helping Emily to search the trophy room.
Look at the urn to the right of the fireplace. You will need either the Linguistics or Occultism skill. You will have one of these automatically if you chose either the Diplomat or Occultist class. If you chose Detective then you will need to have put points into one of those skills.

Use one of the skills to examine the Urn. Choose to 'Open Jar'.

Episode 1, chapter 4. You will need to solve the riddle with the jellyfish. After that, you will find yourself in a secret room behind the fireplace. To the left of the entrance there will be a vase that needs to be opened.

Start upgrading your linguistics skill from the very beginning of the game , or better yet, open the main diplomat branch right away for a complete passage. When replaying a chapter, you may not have the required skill, as was the case for me, and you won’t be able to open it; you’ll have to go through everything again until chapter 4. Fortunately, during the second playthrough, passes will be opened, but it’s still not very pleasant...
