It's possible to buy the same color that you already own. Maybe that's the problem. You can try metallic colors for example to be sure.

Same here. I bought the Challenger and bought parts in every category I could at the beginning of the game. I just wanted to get this on my card for now, and it's pissing me off.

Skyline street spec, bought all, didn't unlock. Skyline doesn't have the "Mirrors" option?
Bought some other car's dirt spec, mirrors included, and it unlocked on exiting the tuner.

I was a bit confused about this, until I watched the video solution. You need to buy the parts from the Street Tuner, not from the Home base like I was trying to do.
Thumbs up from me, thanks.

I tried it on the only two cars that have the ability to modify "street" specs, and it tells me there is nothing to buy in the visual category!

I just bought a brand new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS. Bought the cheapest Level 1 street tune. I got to modify "visual" tunes, and it tells me "There's nothing to buy in this category". No idea how to do this achievement!

I tried it again with the Ford Mustang GT 2011... same thing. Super frustrating. I am not sure what is blocking me out. Any ideas?

Apologies for all the comments in a row. Here's my efforts (failing), in case someone can point out my wrongdoing: https://youtu.be/Z20mLFTfQjo

I've just bought Nissan skyline all 5 categories for another achievement, than customized every possible thing in every category and nothing popped. Do I miss something? Seems to be easy..

So I bought the Camaro and took it into the street tuner. I then equipped a level 40 street kit and it will then give you the ability customize all 9 options of the vehicle. I left the tuner and the achievement popped while I was on the street.

Alright, so here's what happened to me on my "buggy" achievements. I thought "Ghost Bustin", "Facelift" and "Road Trip" were all bugged. Had the in-game award but no achievement. I was getting PISSED to say the least.

First, I tried restarting the game. Nothing.
Second, I tried a hard reset. Nothing.

Finally, I went to where it says switch users on the home screen. I don't have a second account, so I can't switch to anyone else. While the menu is open to switch, I logged out of my account on the xbox. Not the game, the xbox, while still in the game. This caused the game to "reboot" in a way, then I selected my account and was back in. Loaded into the game, and not five minutes later all three achievements popped.

Saw a thread on reddit that some of the problem is kind of like it is with destiny where you have to relog to get stuff to pop. Not sure if this is fool proof or if it will work for everyone, but with only two months away, it has to be worth posting. Let me know if this helps you.

For this trophy / achievement you must visit a Tuning Shop and buy a visual part in every category. There are 13 categories (see full list below). The Street Car Tuner is the cheapest.

Some parts are not available for every car! If the game tells you that "there's nothing to buy in this category", then skip it. In this video I use the Nissan Skyline, but you can do it with any other car of your choice. Pay attention when choosing the color for your car. The tuning shop actually lets you buy the same color that is already on your car. So if your car is black, don't buy the black metallic color again. Always go for a different color tone.

Here is a list with the cheapest options from the Street Car Tuner (costs $13,300 if all parts are available for your car):
1. Color -- Metallic -- $2500
2. Stickers -- Racing -- $4500
3. Interior -- Aluminium -- $450
4. Front Bumper -- $450
5. Rear Bumper -- $450
6. Front Fender -- $450
7. Rear Fender -- $450
8. Skirts -- $450
9. Rims -- Road (if available) -- $2250
10. Side Mirrors -- $450
11. Rear Wing -- $450
12. Hood - $450

After buying all these things you must exit the garage to unlock the trophy or achievement.

You need to purchase every available part within the visual customization category for any car, within their respective tuning shop, as you can only buy upgrades for a sports spec vehicle in a sports tuning shop. Various cars will not have parts available for every category, this does not affect the achievement, simply upgrading every category that does have a part available is sufficient enough.

The cheapest car to upgrade is one of the starter vehicles available in the game, the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS. The total cost for the upgrades is roughly 11,950. The following list is a breakdown of the parts.

Color - 2500 (Metallic)
Stickers - 4500 (Flaming/Racing)
Interior - 450 (Aluminum)
Front Bumper - 450
Rear Bumper - 450
Skirts - 450
Rims - 2250 (Road)
Rear Wing - 450
Hood - 450
