How to unlock the Perf-ection achievement in The Crew - Definitive Guide

Introduction
For this achievement you need to earn a Platinum medal while completing a story mission with a Performance Car. There are a few pre-requisites that you’ll need to complete before being able to attempt this achievement. They are:

• Reach Player Level 50 – This unlocks the ability to earn platinum medals.
• Buy a high quality Performance car.
• Tune a Performance car to above 1180

Reaching Player Level 50
Reaching Player Level 50 is very straight forward as you earn XP for everything that you do in the game and, just by following the story missions to the end and attempting some Skills as you go, you’ll comfortably reach level 50.

Buying a quality Performance Car
The following are the best performance spec cars in my opinion, and certainly the ones that helped me get the most platinum medals:

• Lambourghini AVentador LP 700-4
• Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34)
• Ford Focus RS 2010

However, these are by no means the performance cars that you must use and you may well find yourself with another car that you feel more comfortable with.

Tune a Performance car to above level 1200
This requires you to unlock platinum level parts for each part of your car. Please see the guides for the The Modfather achievement for a thorough walkthrough of how to tune-up your car to level 1180 and beyond, all the way up to 1299. You can access the guides here:

Recommended Performance Car Mission
With a highly tuned, good quality Performance Car you should have no problem getting platinum on the ‘Predicament’ mission in The South. This mission involves you driving along a parallel road to another driver, whom you must stay close to and catch.

You are scored on how close you stay to the other drive while chasing them and there is a counter above the other car telling you how many meters away you are.

The parallel road you are on has a tonne of jumps that you have to make while completing the mission. The key thing to note is that the second jump involves jumping over the road that your target is driving along.

So, the trick to getting platinum is to actually fail to make the second jump in the mission and land on the same road that your target is driving on. Then just stick with him as close as you can to the end. If you can stay within 20 to 70 meters you should be fine for platinum but the closer the better.

As a step by step guide:

1) Skip the opening cut scene.
2) Accelerate and use nitrous as soon as you have control of your car
3) Clear the first jump.
4) You’ll land on a road that curves left toward a second jump.
5) Slow down so that you hit the jump travelling at no more than 120 MPH.
6) While in the air start turning right.
7) If done correctly, you’ll land on the other road just as you’re target is going by.
8) Use nitrous again to close the gap and drive as fast as you can while staying as close to him as you can.

Helpful Videos
I discovered the above by accident when I failed the second jump due to smashing into a wall on the curve and suddenly realised that I was on the same road as the target, so I just hit the accelerator and kept chasing him.

However it appears lots of other people have observed the same thing and here are some examples I found on YouTube:

Just a note: If you reach level 50, and have met the requirements for a platinum medal previously, you automatically get this achievement. It can save you from a mission replay.
