How to unlock the Tides that Bind achievement in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics - Definitive Guide

*** Difficulty does NOT effect this Achievement***

If you find yourself struggling at all in this game, you can pause and change difficulty from the default "normal" to "story"to make it easier.

This achievement is unlocked by completing the "Coastal Caves" level.

Goal: Research the Knowledge with Ivo. You start on a little area of land surrounded by sea. You get to pick 4 team members for this battle, plus Ivo as an ally. I put 2 of my fighters on left side, and a healer and fighter on the right (fighter in far right slot). Left team must wait for water to recede before moving forward to attack caster. I had Ivo use Fleet Shot (ranged attack) on the right most enemy. I landed a critical shot which let him attack again, but this might not happen for you. The other enemy on the right should move up and attack your fighter. Simply use your 3 troops on the right to finish those off. Once the water recedes, use your left 2 troops to move up and kill the caster on the left. At the same time, start moving Ivo up the middle of the map. Move him up as far as you can each time so he is ready to advance as soon as the water goes down further. Once your right 2 team kills both enemies, leave them there as 2 more enemies will spawn right at the beginning. Once your left 2 troops kill the caster, send one up right behind Ivo and follow him. Send the other back to beginning to aid with the 2 reinforcements. Once Ivo moves as far forward as he can after the water recedes again, enemies will spawn on each side of the path, and one by the knowledge (white outlined square). This next part is totally random. The first time I moved Ivo up to the space right before the knowledge, and on the enemies turn the bat near it moved up and sat right on the knowledge square keeping me from moving onto it. Before I could kill the bat, the game failed me. I can only assume water began to rise and someone drowned, but the game did not show that, it just failed. My second attempt the bat did not get close enough and I was able to move Ivo on to the knowledge which finishes the level.
***If you get to this part and move Ivo up to the square just before the knowledge, DONT end turn. Cast his Deep Breath skill which allows him to take his next turn sooner. This should also help you get to move before the bat blocks you from winning***

Try to always have a type of Fighter, Scout, and Mender in your group.

Freaking bat was sitting on the square. Despite raining blows on it with two characters (I brought another character alongside Ivo as additional protection), I wasn't able to kill the bat (it avoided two of my attacks). Genuinely stupid level.

Yea my first run at it and that dumb bat blocked me as well. Took me multiple attempts, but that deep breath skill definitely helped. Good luck with the achievement!

Yeah, this is not fun level, failed twice now because of that stupid bat moving onto the end point.

If Ivo could be leveled up this wouldn't be a problem.

Sorry EarthboundX. Yea that was a definite pain to have a stupid bat block your exit and cause a failure

OK, third time's the charm. Grinded a bit to buy everyone the Sifan Footwrap Trinket, to up their movement, and with that and Brea having Fly, I was able to get her to block that dumb bat from flying onto the end point.
