How to unlock the Final Girl achievement in The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes - Definitive Guide

This is not complicated. You don't need to make characters die in specific ways. If you have a save file where everyone survives to the finale, just reload the last chapter and choose one character to be your "final girl" (can be anyone; I chose Salim). During the eclipse holdout in the house, pass the QTEs for your chosen character and for everyone else fail their QTEs so they get killed. Easy peasy. Achievement will pop after the credits roll.

Missable achievement - you have to fulfill several conditions
(If you do not want any spoilers stop reading here!)

I will describe my way to do this achievement smile (For some people the name of achievement is confiusing "Final Girl" but the only one survivior does not have to be a Rachel, it can be anybody).

1. All characters must survive and reach the chamber with strange antique musical instrument in the middle!

2. I recommend to choose Jason as the only survivor,

3. Rachel dies first, after she helped Salim with instrument she will start transforming into a vampire / demon, she will take a granade and knife just make the suicide by hitting the granade with knife.

4. Nick is next, Nick will go plant the explosives, he will have two choices "Advance" and "Retreat" you need to choose "Advance" and mess up the QTE (QTE is a minigame which requiares to press cn_A, cn_B, cn_X or cn_Y and cn_LT or cn_RT) after this "heart beating mini game" start, after you mess up the creature will kill Nick.

5. Jason needs to recuse Samil and reach the elevator with Eric.

6. When they start climbing the rope, Eric will see Infected-Clarice, she will attack them and thing I did was to mess up all QTEs in the result Samil got killed by Clarice.

7. Last 2 characters will make their way, finally they will reach the small house I decided to mess up all QTEs while playing as Eric, so in the result he has been killed.

8. As Jason I did all QTEs perfectly and he was the only one who survived.

Achievement popped in the main menu after final credits.

I saved everyone on my first run, then just reloaded the last part of the game and missed the quick time events with four characters: Rachel was killed by Clarice, and then later Nick, Jason and Eric were killed during the eclipse. But I didn't miss the quick time events with Salim and he stayed alive when air support quickly arrived and took him away as a prisoner. And then the achievement unlocked.

(Balathu was already dead, so he didn't rise during the eclipse, I'm not totally sure, but I think to defeat him in this eclipse part you always need at least two or three characters. So be careful.)

(Eric had secured air support early in the game and in the middle of the game Merwin got radio contact, I don't know if that makes a difference in keeping someone alive, but that way Salim becomes a prisoner and can't get back to his son).

This trophy is a bit deceptive, as it doesn't need to be Rachel that survives, nor does it matter how many people make it to the eclipse battle. To be on the safe side, I got all five characters to the end and had all of them except Rachel fail their QTEs, but the game is a lot more generous, allowing you to bring as few as two people to the end (I think that's the fewest you can possibly bring), and as long as only one person is alive at the end, the trophy will unlock after the credits.

With one hero, we reach the final and complete all qte.
PS: Despite the name, it is not necessary for only Rachel to survive for the trophy.

I confirm the words of Gleb2304, they misled me that only one character should get out of the cave, I got Eric and Nick, Eric failed the qte in the hut, completed it for Nick, he was the last survivor, the trophy fell immediately after the credits and the teaser for the next part

The main clue is wrong. I tried for 3 hours to lose all but one of the heroes by the end - I couldn’t, at least 2 remained alive. In the end, I just scored, Jason and Salim reached the final and didn’t press all the QTEs for Salim there. And only Jason survived.

Combined with the "Went into the Sunset" trophy. Most died during the passage and in the end only Salim remained.

Rachel may be infected, only Salim survived for me.

Came with 3 characters, Nick, Eric, Jason. Jason was carried away by a vampire, Eric was grabbed through a window, Nick survived and received the trophy.

Until the finale, everyone survived, the QTE was performed only for Rachel, if you skip the QTE for Nick, Eric and Rachel (they are the very first in QTE), then everyone will die, because the game will not allow you to complete QTEs for Salim and Jason.

Can be combined with the "Think Like a Marine" trophy. As the game progresses, choose wisely, but fail QTEs for all characters. In the end, Jason and Salim got out. After which I failed all the QTEs in the house for Salim, and completed them for Jason. Jason will be the only survivor.
