EDIT: Thanks to New xDante1986 for pointing this out: the bible only appears during Taylor and Daniel's trip through the museum. John and Andrew have a completely different book on the table.

During either group's time in the museum, look for the bible on the table and open it to find devilish symbols/writing. This should give you the option at the end in the courthouse to accuse Carver, with proof, and have Mary saved.
There could be other ways to unlock this, but this is what worked for me. Abraham will tell the judge to check the bible, where he will see the symbols, and have Carver arrested.

For me it wasn´t each time with both group. With first group there is book New England Witch Trials, when you are there with 2nd group on the same table is holy bible instead with 4 pages of devil´s symbols.

I've found the Bible and it doesn't give me this choice even when playing with another player. Unless I've made the wrong choices. But i know i definitely found the bible.

I found that in the very first opening scene with the burning house, when you get the choice of saving Mary or the other girl, you must save (or attempt to) Mary, otherwise at the end of the game he will say, "but I didn't save you" even if you found the bible

In order to save Mary, you will need to have found the secret of the Old Bible in the museum while playing as Daniel and Taylor (see the secret guide for more info). Whenever you have the chance during a flashback, make sure not to cast suspicion on Mary, and during the final flashback at the ruined house, you need to direct the suspicion towards Carver by selecting the Rage option, and then the Persistence option. If done correctly, the priest will be blamed for the events of the game, and Mary will go free. The trophy will unlock after the credits.
