When you start a mission, hit RT to open up Battle Status Overview. Press A to view Battle Log, and then press A again to select where to start from again. Once you press yes, it should restart you at the beginning of the battle and give you the achievement.

After completing a checkpoint, you can access the battle log through the battle status overview by pressing
