How to unlock the Daedric Influence achievement in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition - Definitive Guide

Daedric Influence

I got this achievement by Completing the quest “ Ill Met By Moonlight.”

I believe it starts in the town of Falkreath, if this is wrong correct me because I forgot, but in this town there should be a graveyard with some tombstones and a few people walking around. There will be a priest there, an elf priest, giving the funeral for a 10 year old girl. The two other people by the priest are the girl’s mother and father.

I spoke to the father and asked him every question, he tells you about a man named Sinding who killed his daughter

The quest will update and Sinding is located in the same town in a jail, the arrow will relocate as you progress through this quest and point you in the right direction to find the building he is in.

Find Sinding and talk to him, say you will take the ring from him and give it to Hircine, who is a Daedric Lord. The quest will send you to kill a Giant White Stag, I suggest being a decent level and sneaking up on this stag so it doesn’t run away forever like it did to me. Use a bow and sneak or stealthily walk up to it and attack.

Once the stag is dead, its ghost will appear and it will be Hircine, talk to him and ask if he can remove the curse from the ring, he will send you to find and kill Sinding in Bloated Man’s Grotto. Once there, there should be a few hunters that have been killed, continue on and Find Sinding in Werewolf form and tell him that you will spare his life, help him kill the remaining hunters and in doing so you become his friend and upon exiting the cave, Hircine will be pleased by you telling him that you were unable to kill Sinding. Hircine will still be pleased because, instead you slaughtered all the hunters and impressed him, after a very short dialogue you will receive his blessing and the achievement is yours.

Sorry for the long guide, just giving you’re the full step by step instructions

Good guide, thanks.

If you're following the story, you're also presented with a chance to get an artifact from Semptimus Signus (spelling?)

You can also go back in after speaking to Hircine outside the cave after choosing to spare Sinding (you will have the Ring of Hircine, uncursed) and kill and skin sinding to get the other daedric artifact. Therefore, you will have two towards the fifteen instead of one.

I chose to kill Sinding (thinking of that poor little girl and her grieving parents) and the achievement popped afterwards when I got the armour thing from Hircine and the ring was removed.

MiAnVaSa007 I confirm that picking up the artifact during The Break of Dawn unlocks this achievement.

I want to point out a bug I encountered and was able to fix regarding the "Pieces of the Past" quest, to get Mehrunes' Razor. After collecting the pieces of the knife and meeting Silus Vesuius at the Shrine of Mehrunes Dagon, he will call out to you, interact with the altar, and ask you to do the same.

Doing so triggers a brief discussion with Mehrunes, who tells you to kill Silus. I agreed, killed him, and interacted with the altar again. At this point, I was attacked by a frost troll that made its way to me somehow. Since I was locked in conversation, I couldn't back out and defend myself, and was killed (that prick Mehrunes really likes to chatter, and you can't leave conversations with Daedric lords). After reloading, I found that Silus didn't react to my presence and thus wouldn't interact with the altar at all. After trying a few things, I found that initiating conversation with someone else fixed the issue. I don't think it matters who, but for reference I spoke to Giraud Gemane, the Master Speech trainer from the Bard's College in Solitude.

I hope this helps someone who finds themselves in the same situation.

At level 21, I had some problems killing Malkoran - he simply killed me with one cast of an ice storm and I didn’t even have time to reach him, I was in pumped-up Dwemer armor and drank a couple of potions before the battle. I solved this problem by using a talisman, the fact is that almost any talisman completely eliminates damage in exchange for mana, but it can be instantly restored with potions. In this way, you can survive one cast and have time to run up to him and hit him with a strong attack in order to prevent him from attacking you, since he has little health.

At level 14, wearing regular elven armor, I died. But by that time he had already become a member of the Circle. On the 3rd attempt, I killed Malkoran in the form of a werewolf with one talent point.

Description of all Daedra missions. The fastest way to complete Meridia's task is to restore light to Mount Kolkreath. You will find Meridia's star in one of the chests (I found it in a giant's chest near Whiterun). Upon completion of the task that you receive from Meridia (bring light to the temple and kill Malkoran), the achievement will be unlocked
