How to unlock the Dragon Hunter achievement in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition - Definitive Guide

There are 10 discoverable locations on the world map where you fight a dragon, get a shout, and find a chest full of goodies.

1. Lost Tongue Overlook (S of Riften)
2. Autumnwatch Tower (W of Riften)
3. Ancients Acent (SW of Helgren)
4. Northwind Summit (N of Riften)
5. Bonestrewn Crest (S of Windhelm)
6. Skyborn Alter (NW of Whiterun)
7. Eldersblood Peak (NW of Whiterun, W of Skyborn Alter)
8. Shearpoint (NE of Whiterun)
9. Dragontooth Crater (NE of Markarth)
10. Mount Anthor (S of Winterhold)

After a period of time has lapsed (about 10 days, the game seems to like 10 days as the default respawn time for things) all of these dragons will be back again for you to kill, loot, and absorb souls from. Just fast travel to each location, kill the dragon, and then go to the next one.

This will also help towards building up 100,000 gold.

So just hit all of the locations, wait 10 days. Then hit them again. If you don't see them yet, wait longer, then try. Since I didn't find them all at the same time they sometimes were there in some places and not in others.

Happy hunting!!!

*** ADDITIONAL***
Realistically you'll probably kill around 50 dragons just chasing the quests. By the time I finished the game I had killed more than 60. This is more of a solution for people who want to get all of the achievements in less than a weeks time.

I killed a dragon at a spot I had been before and it did not let me absorb the soul, not sure if that was a bug or if dragons can't actually befarmed

I decided to give the "Way of the Voice" quest a pass for a while on this play around. I am level 38 now and apart from killing the first dragon outside Whiterun that gets you the quests to go see the graybeards, I have only killed random dragons that showed when I fast traveled into an area. Today I got this achievement just for doing those.

What Killjoy Kaitlin said above, works perfectly! I just wanted to add to it by showing pictures of their locations on the map.

For this achievement, you must use a console command a total of 20 times, since there isn't a way to absorb more than one at a time. Type in "player.modav dragonsouls 1" and then press Up on your keyboard, this will then autofill your command line with the last command you used. Repeat this 20 times to unlock the achievement.

After defeating Miraak (DLC Dragonborn) they will give 12 (I had that many) dragon souls. Although you may easily get this trophy while traveling around Skyrim.

Dragons in lairs respawn every 10 days, and they also often attack settlements and possessions, so there will be no problems with the trophy.
