How to unlock the Vampire Mastered achievement in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition - Definitive Guide

To get this achievement you will have to become first a Vampire Lord (not a normal Vampire) to access the Vampire Lord perks.

To become a Vampire Lord you will need to start the Dawnguard quest called the Awakening and travel to Fort Dawnguard, located in the southeastern corner of the map, to the east of Riften.

When you progress the quest and escort the daughter home you will speak to Lord Harkon and he will offer to make the player into a Vampire Lord. This is your first chance to become a Vampire Lord( but you will have two more chances later on if you decline here).

The 2 spots where you can still become a Vampire Lord :

In the quest Chasing Echoes, Serana offers to turn the player into a Vampire Lord. This is because living things cannot normally enter the Soul Cairn.
After defeating Harkon and completing Kindred Judgment, the final quest in the Dawnguard questline, the player can ask Serana to make her/him into a Vampire Lord just do not let Serana become human as she will not be able to then.

If you will like to get this achievement out of the way and not be a Vampire Lord you could just make a save before you speak with Lord Harkon, become a Lord Vampire, and go on a rampage killing people/animals to get the perks.

While in-game push cn_B go to Magic and then down to Powers and cn_RT on the Vampire Lord. Exit and push cn_RB and you become the Vampire Lord. Now the Vampire Lord features 11 unique perks and two combat modes — Melee Mode and Blood Magic mode by clicking cn_LSyou can choose the mode you want. Consuming lifeblood through a power attack bite (from melee mode) or a Drain Life spell(red spell on the blood magic mode) allows new perks to be gained.

Feedings
Each new perk requires a few more feedings than the last. A total of 156 people (or animals) need to be fed to complete the entire tree.

Power attack bite

This attack can be used while in melee mode. It is performed when power attacks a humanoid with low health and happens only a percentage of the time. It activates an animation in which the enemy is bitten on the neck and killed. For this attack, you will need to count for upgrading the perk tree.

Drain Life
This spell is unlocked by default. Hold down cn_RT to charge it and then release it. It is the core offensive spell in the Vampire Lord's arsenal and is permanently equipped in the right hand when in Blood Magic mode. It works similar to the original Vampiric Drain in that it absorbs the health, but rather than a stream of energy, it is an area-of-effect projectile similar to the fireball spell. Killing creatures or people with this spell allows new perks to be gained.

Also if you will like to just exit the Vampire Lord just click cn_up on the D-pad and choose the Revert Form and then click cn_RB and you are back to your character (i was personally stuck and did not know how to get back lol facepalm).

If you just wish to get the achievement out of the way fast then make a save and
-just ask Serana or Lord Harkon to make you a Vampire Lord
-travel to each Hold in Skyrim and start killing all from guards to horses as a Vampire with the Drain Life spell
-exit the Hold you are and just ran away till you do not have aggro anymore
-travel to another Hold and repeat (it will take maybe 3 or 4 Holds)
-put all 11 perks on the perk tree to get your achievement
-load your save

If you are wondering about the Holds in Skyrim those are:
Whiterun
Falkreath
Markarth
Dawnstar
Riften
Solitude
Windhelm
Winterhold
Morthal

EDIT: Shomberlon commented that *Mudcrabs and Frost spiders have a 1-to-1 ratio for feeding. I found a good concentration in the river that runs from Markarth all the way down to the sea (over 20 in total) and 10+ in the river that runs past Whiterun. I think any large animal gives you a feeding point but I know 100% that the above 2 always give you one.*

@A Celica Owner , check your TA achievement list.Your achievement is there just it might not have pop on the Xbox One so your all good wink.

ok i'm struggling to find an answer to this. I know its been established that it doesn't matter if you're a werewolf before doing the dawnguard DLC and becoming a vampire. And I know that you can re-become a werewolf after becoming a vampire. But what I'm wandering is can you become a werewolf if you first became a vampire (not starting the companion questline until dawnguard is complete).

Since Skyrim SE bundled the DLC I want to knock out Dawnguard before everything else to eliminate possible deaths of important NPC's. So will the companions allow me to complete their quest and become a werewolf if I had not previously been one before becoming a vampire?

You can do the Companion's quest line to gain Beast Blood (it does not matter if your a VL), if you already had Beast Blood once and had it removed, you can speak to Aela to gain lycanthropy again. But only once.

THANK YOU! had not been able to get a straight answer on that. I've been reading the walkthrough trying to figure it out, but it's got me second guessing every step. Every time I go to advance a questline I feel I'm about to break another one.

can anyone please help me i think ive hit a glitch, im currently on 10 out of 11 vampire perks but after the 10th perk it will not allow me to get anymore lifeblood (the message at the top of the screen no longer pops up when i kill somebody)

Im killing people with the vampire lord life drain and it will not allow me to get lifeblood progress to get the last perk? has anyone else had this problem?

I have reverted to a couple of more previous saves of mine but im still having this problem, looks like i might have to start a new character to get this achievement when it becomes my last one to get.

(I have earned this achievement on the 360 so im really confused as to why its not working for me)

Try get 24 kills with the blood life spell on living things like animals or people , maybe you still get progress just is wont show it there .

I tried that, thanks for the help im just going to do everything else then start a new character when i need this achievement, not going to let this ach stop me enjoying skyrim. smile
(Must be a rare bug because i can only find one more person with the same problem as me on the internet)

Another fun way to do this, is to go do one of the "Civil war" taking a fort quests, wait for everyone to be out of view, change form, kill everything friend and foe. The foes will respawn until you get to 0%, and the friends will endlessly spawn after that. Plus if you weren't seen transforming, they won't know it's you.

I have found that certain animals work all the time (Mudcrabs and Foxes) while others never worked for me at all (Goats, Deer, Elk) Bears worked sometimes (especially if you SUMMON a Gargoyle and have it hit the Bear first, for some reason).

Someone mentioned Aela already in a comment, but: you can also switch between werewolf/vampire by talking to Aela/Serana if need be.

This achievement has bugged for me!!!! 3 hours down the drain!!! Walking down the river is certainly the best way though.

Dogfighter you have the achievement, right now there is an issue with MS achievements and the achievements won't pop or show on your Gamertag but they will show in TA.

If it helps, if you're married, you can feed on your spouse as often as you want. While it doesn't give you credit towards the perks, it does help with the hunger. Your spouse won't even attack you.

It might b worth adding to your guide that animals such as Mudcrabs and Frost spiders have a 1 to 1 ratio for feeding. I think any large animal give you a feeding point but I know 100% that the above 2 always give you one. I managed to get the achievement in a little over an hour following your method and adding the animals in.

For this achievement, you'll need to advance the DLC story to a specific point and once you are in the tutorial of how to transform into a vampire, you can actually do so and use the perk points. First, use the below commands.
 
  • setstage DLC1vq02 20
  • coc DLC1VampireCastleGuildhall
Go up to Lor Harkin to accept becoming a vampire lord, then once you transform enter "set DLC1VampirePerkPoints to 11" and assign the perk points to unlock the achievement.

You need to become a full-fledged vampire, completely losing the abilities of a werewolf, so be sure to first upgrade all the abilities of a werewolf, and only then take on getting this achievement. It is better, of course, to leave them for dessert. However, both this and this achievement can be obtained by acting outside the plot, after obtaining which you can continue the game again from the last save.
