How to unlock the Explorer achievement in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition - Definitive Guide

Simply use the following commands to greatly speed up the time it takes you to discover the 100 locations:

sgtm 10 - this sets the game speed to 10x the normal speed including movement speed. You can lower it to whatever suits you if you find 10 to be too fast.

tcl - This toggles clipping so you can fly and pass through objects.

tgm - This toggles God mode so that if you happen to get caught unawares by some extremely fast moving enemies, you won't get insta-killed. (Thanks THEpaynexkiller)

Once these are all enabled just fly around by looking at the compass for a location you haven't been to, point towards it and fly straight there. Rinse and repeat. Should take around 10 minutes or less.

Edit: I know tcl can be finnicky to get working so read this if you are struggling:
Make sure that there is no entity selected when executing the command.
You'll know an entity is selected when you have the console open and in the middle of the screen is a bunch of numbers/letters which represent someone or something.
For example if you open the console and click on the dragonborn in 3rd person cam the text "(00000014) will be in the middle because you have the player selected.
To "deselect" the entity that is currently selected just click somewhere without an entity (i.e. the ground or the sky or something).

You're probably right that TGM is better. I'll edit the solution.
As for getting tcl to work, make sure that there is no entity selected when executing the command.

TGM is much more helpful then Immortal mode. TGM means unliimited Stamina and No Damage.

Also does tcl work for anyone?

hahahaha fast moving enemies. I got sniped out so bad by a dragon. This game is still extremely fun with console commands. Im having a blast.

Good guide, had to save a few times since my game kept closing down. Assuming acting like the flash on a Macbook wasn't meant to be.

The fastest way to do this by far an takes little effort and zero map travelling…

All you need to do is find any location (town, dungeon, what ever) at all. Stand within it’s area and open console command and type:

tmm 0

Then after closing the console command the area will be “discovered” and turn from a black marker to a white marker although you’ve already been there. Then keep repeating over and over till you “discovered” 100 locations.

Tested and works as of 22nd of may 2022.

This achievement will come naturally by doing the story, guild quests, and a few side missions as well. I just unlocked it at level 21, I've completed The Companions quest, and have hardly touched the story. Story wise I am at....

Time wise, I'm at 100+ hrs, most of which is from side questing and guild stuff.

Pretty simple achievement , discover 100 locations.
If u love exploring this shouldn't take that long probley about an hour tops if walking , less if your riding a horse , there are easily 200+ locations in skyrim and all you have to is discover 100 just keep walking around and u should have it in no time

A far easier way (with console commands) is:

Type exactly: modpcmiscstat "locations discovered" 99

(instead of 99... type however many you need to get to 99 - so if you have 51 discovered, type 48 - so the in game stat shows 99)

Then walk and discover 1 location... achievement unlocked

For this achievement, you must actually get near enough to an undiscovered location and "find" it manually for it to count. However, you can do this extremely quickly by using the "tcl" and "sgtm 10" commands. This will turn off clipping allowing you to fly and go through objects, and set the game speed to 10x normal. Start in Solstheim and find 30 locations there for Solstheim Explorer (30G), then move back to Skyrim proper and find the remaining 70.
