How to unlock the Sometimes Fighting Isn't the Answer achievement in The Evil Within 2 - Definitive Guide


Chapter 5

The Boss Fight in Chapter 5 in The Evil Within 2 triggers once you pick up the file in front of city hall. To get the Achievement don't engage in a fight with the boss, instead sprint to your left around city hall.

Destroy obstacles with the red barrels and avoid the traps. Once you reach the back entrance of city hall, keep pressing A until you are inside where you can collect the achievement.

Sometimes Fighting Isn't The Answer Achievement Guide

This achievement requires you to not fight the Guardian that spawns at the beginning of Chapter 5. Just run left and shoot the explosive barrels and shoot the explosive bolts along the wall, and you'll get this no problem.

This will not unlock for me. Tried with cheats enabled and disabled, reloaded the save time & time again... Something superspecial I'm missing?

This will not unlock for me, tried with and without cheats, reloaded the save several times. But nothing. .

EDIT: Do not kill the boss, set off/fire at all the traps yourself.

to get this once you spawn the monster in front of city hall run left and towards the back you will see two barrels blow them up duck under the first trip wire and take a quick right shoot the box in front of you so they all blow up then remember to either defuse both trip wires or shoot them make your way to the door in front and bash x until you open it. the monster will hit you but it wont stop the x button mashing and once your in your trophy will pop since you didn't fight her

This achievement is obtained at the start of chapter 5. The Guardian boss will appear and block your entrance to City Hall. To earn this achievement, you cannot kill the Guardian. Instead, run over to the left of City Hall. Your path is obstructed by crates and red barrels. Shoot one of the red barrels. Continue around to the back of the building, avoiding tripwires and destroying more crates along the way. Eventually you’ll see a door. Shove open the door. The achievement unlocks once you make it inside of City Hall without killing the Guardian.

Nothing complicated. In Chapter 5, in front of the City Hall building, you will meet a guard and you will have two options, fight him or simply run away. If you fight and win, you will receive the "Not Running This Time" trophy.

During a boss fight, you need to run around the building on the left (if you are facing the entrance) and run through the door there.

We do not kill the Guardian, but run through (to the left of the city hall) the car, boxes and traps.
