How to unlock the Another Day on the Job achievement in The Evil Within - Definitive Guide

A few of the most important little tips and tricks for the game.
And as always check the other awesome guides on here for specific level problems.

*You need to save your game as often as possible. Double back to save if necessary.

*In a new location listen for the music and follow it to find the save mirror.

*Your ability to sprint and your health only automatically recovers when you’re standing still.

*Upgrade your Sprint and Health First and you will save yourself a ton of misery.

*Always check you’ve loaded your weapon before picking up more ammo.

*Hatchets/axes and torches will kill an enemy with one hit

*If you’re very precise you can kill an enemy with a single headshot.

*Running is sometimes smarter than Fighting, don't be afraid to sprint passed an enemy.

*Look out for statues, and smash them when you find them. They will give you a key that can be used in the morgue to open lockers

The hatchet does indeed kill with one hit. But it appears thatthe hatchet is only good for one zombie kill, at least on survivor difficulty.

I've killed 2 haunted with one hatchet swing on Nightmare so it should work for Survival too.

No lawman is right, on several enemies a hatchet or fire swing does not kill them instantly. Obviously it doesn't work on bosses, but on the larger body enemies a lot of them seem to be able to tank the hits as well even on survivor.

Warning. Following the walkthrough and doing survivor as your first playthru without upgrades is going to be very challenging, rage inducing much of the time. And you really must hold on to your weapons and such for the times they are needed. I used most of my inventory for several boss fights.
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***
Time wise, it may be better to do a 4th playthru than try to do 3. However, i was able to pull it off, but it was hard.

Hey guys, bit late to the scene here but currently playing through on survival. Just wondering, will the achievement still pop if you enable the eye icon whilst playing on Survival Difficulty?

Just like the description says, complete the game on survival. This is the difficulty I recommend for the first playthrough. It is considered the Normal difficulty and will stack with the Casual achievement. Only differences between the game modes I have noticed is damage taken, less loot, additional challenges, difficulty of bombs and number of enemies

Earning this trophy will also earn you First Step into Darkness, as well as unlock Nightmare and Akumu modes. The trophy will unlock upon reaching the clear screen for Chapter 15: An Evil Within, after the credits.
