How to unlock the Drop It Like It's Hot achievement in The Evil Within - Definitive Guide

It is best to get this Achievement in Chapter 4 once you enter the sewer area you will face alot of enemies, firstly disarm the traps so they won't kill the enemies and then equip your crossbow with Flash Bolts. Now round up the enemies and get them in a group and fire a bolt at them, then quickly run at them at press cn_B and you should get it.

Flash Bolts are found in C3 in the Watch Tower and the Crossbow is in a building next to the watch tower.

I also had the problem of him not dropping his match. I did find that there is one corpse that is in the dumpster (near the switch to drain the blood). I lured all the enemies over there and then lit the corpse on the dumpster on fire, then I shot the group with a flash bolt, then for some reason it allowed me to flick my match on them. I tried 8-9 times before this and he would not flick his stick. I don't know if the lighting of the corpse method will work for everyone, but it did work for me. Thanks for the help deranged asylum.

This just will not work for me. There's a puddle of fuel at the back of the room, and I managed to light every enemy in there on fire at the same time dropping a match into that....nothing. If I just walk up to enemies and press B nothing happens :S

Yeah that happened to me also. I had to try a few times to get this, seems he refuses to use the matches sometimes.

Love your guide Deranged Asylum, but this one I had trouble with. My dude would not fire up a match when I stunned them. So after a few tries, I figured that knocking one down (or using shotgun) AND THEN fire up a match with a bunch of them gather around unlocked this achievement for me.

Does it have to be exactly 3? I've done it with 4 and 5 but the achievement won't seem to pop.

I did this 3 times, first time 4 enemies was caught and the achievement didn't pop up, so I tried again to get exactly 3 enemies but still no achievement

This can (and should!) be done at any point through the game. When you encounter a group of enemies, try to kite them around until they are fairly close together. As soon as they are, hit them with a shotgun blast. (I found my shotgun upstairs in the house where the crossbow is located in chapter three). This will knock them to the ground, at which point you can run over and drop a match, setting them all alight.
Not only will this get you the achievement, it is a very good skill to learn, as you can take out large groups of enemies with only a single shotgun shell and one match!

this can also be done in chapter 2 in front of the gate you need to open there are two zombies sleeping dont pull the crank yet.lure another zombie over to them and shoot him in the leg so he falls on top of the other two zombies.then just drop a match on all three.

Oh, that’s clever. I used a match on them, but didn’t think about the achievement until I got past the gate and saw a ton of zombies feasting on corpses.

I snuck up behind the one closest to the bridge (without being spotted) and the moment I killed him, they all came running. I dodged a few attacks and tried to burn them with his corpse but failed a couple of times and just decided to shoot and kill to get new corpses to burn. Got it to work, but it looked like I only killed two standing zombies along with the body I burnt, yet I unlocked the achievement.

I think I prefer your solution. I was focussed on getting torch kills as there were two enemies holding them.

Credit to for this goes to Devlinholic SG on youtube. I was watching his Akumu video and in Chapter Five right after you rescue Joseph there is a room with a female haunted and a bunch other haunted lying on beds.

What you do is right after you rescue Joseph there is a path to the right that leads to some lockers, right before it is an oil slick that cross the entire room. The left path has all the haunted. What you do is alert the haunted and then run behind the oil path, you might have to shot the female haunted as she is a little faster than the rest, and when they are close enough lite the oil slick and all of them will run into and burn, you can get close to 6 in one shot.

I actually recommend his Akumu videos in general because they have great tips for all playthroughs, and he points out a lot of the keys and collectibles.

The best location for this achievement is in Chapter 4 in the sewer area. Head to the door in the back to trigger a cut scene and enemies will start spawning. You can either wait there and knock one to the ground and light it when others come or go to the other side where a patch of gasoline can be lit. Both techniques are shown in the video.

i done this on level 5 when the woman is drowning in the tank you will be swarmed by lots of zombie/monsters after the wave that spawns above you with dynamite there will be another wave where 2 fattys and a normal come through the same door simply shotgun them at close range and quickly press B. Job done clap

You need to bring together 3 monsters. Fire on one monster, he must fall to the ground without dying. Burn him with a match before he gets up. A video below will show you how you can get this trophy.

This trophy can be a little tricky to earn during regular play.

You can lure a group of enemies near a body and quickly light the body on fire to cause a chain reaction to the three living enemies. You can also catch enemies in similar situations using puddles of oil found throughout the game.

If you are struggling to earn this trophy, you can use a Flash Agony Bolt on a group of enemies near oil or a body and then drop a match to kill the group. The trophy will unlock shortly after the enemies are dead.

This is easily achievable on Chapter 4. On the opposite side of the door that triggers the enemies, there is a a patch of oil on the ground that you can drop a match on. All you need to do is gather 3 enemies there and drop the match. You can use a shock or flash bolt to give you more time and freedom to drop the match.

Gather a crowd of 3-4 people behind you, knock one of them down with a shotgun blast and set it on fire.

Personally, I got it in chapter 4. At a certain point, the Oracle will appear and will raise about 7-8 enemies against you, I ran into the small room behind and did as described above, when they burst in.
